I am posting this here because Kick bots (alledgedly) have been mass downvoting comments in threads that mention Kick is at fault in hopes to twist public perception away from Kick's culpability. Jean's torture had been reported already prior to his death. The platform ignored the torture that was taking place.

    1. I’m french and this story is beyond horrific. The sheer amount of torture and horror they put this man through, using his vulnerability and financial/health situation to subject him to more and more horrors, psychologically manipulating him to make money off his public humiliation and torture, is beyond the pale. This was a man who was clearly quite vulnerable in some ways, who before this lived with his mother and couldn’t work, who felt alone and miserable and wanted to find love and was told by these monsters he would live that way the rest of his life if they didn’t let him abuse him for money. So many people tuned in gleefully to harass him, mock him, enjoy the suffering he went through, make suggestions over what new humiliation he should endure. I hope his partners and everyone involved go to prison for a long time.

    2. I hope his family bankrupts the company and that his murderers and abusers face legal consequences for what they did. There *needs* to be consequences, and very serious ones, or things like this will just get worse.

There was an short game that warned of this very specific behavior years ago (like 2014) guess it was proven right. If only I could remember the name.

it’s only 8:30am and i’ve already had enough internet for today. i hope retribution is served

    5. Kick lets streamers do Omegle and ask kids to undress. The platform needs to be shutdown.

When viewers alerted the streamers to the fact that Pormanove hadn’t moved in a while, the streamers’ first response was to throw trash at his body. Absolutely heinous. Snuff is happening right on a platform endorsed by Ethan Klein and Mr. Beast.

I cannot believe this happened. Last week in france a woman was detained for verbally challenging a minister about a child sexual abuse scandal he helped covering. If you threaten a politician on twitter the cops show up at five in the morning at your house the next day.

      Yet they let this happen.

    8. This is NOT the first death to occur live on stream. It’s the rise of the genre of self-dubbed [“trash streaming”](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trash_stream) where streamers “do anything for money”; it evolved from dangerous pranks to now intentionally physically harming others.

Just a few months ago a man [killed his pregnant girlfriend](https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2021/04/28/russian-youtuber-jailed-for-abused-girlfriends-live-streamed-death-a73762) (Valentina Grigoryeva) after being paid a few thousand by his stream viewers to do so. I’m surprised it’s not making bigger news tbh

    9. I saw the thread about him, it was horrifying! I cannot believe two men would take in a vulnerable man and torture him for two fucking years! And people watched and paid them the whole time??? I know Kick allows almost everything but even I thought they wouldn’t prominently host torture and strangulation. His last days sounded torturous. Those clowns paid him 6000 a month to torture a man to death, I hope they get life in jail

    10. People should go to jail. This is insane and a terrible precedent if not prosecuted. 🥲
