VH1’s Behind The Music turned 28. Here’s a throwback to Nicole Scherzinger being messy as hell by making it very clear she was the only singer in Pussycat Dolls

      This is fucking hilarious

“Do you understand what I’m saying?”

She knew exactly what she was letting out into the world lmao

    2. Poor mel …. she was great at singing too! she always caught my eye as a long-term fan

    3. Nicole was the main singer of the group, but she wasn’t the ONLY singer. I highly doubt the story she’s telling is true, because Melody and Carmit can be heard all over that album (Melody ad libbing and Carmit singing very prominent background vocals). The two of them also have solos on the song “Beep”. The *PCD* album Nicole is talking about also features leftover vocals from Kaya Jones, recorded when she was still in the group. The single “Stickwitu” also features the cover of “Santa Baby”, sung by Carmit, Ashley and Jessica, which was part of the Pussycat Dolls’ repertoire while they were still just a burlesque group.

Maybe Nicole did record all the demos, that were later then rerecorded with Melody and Carmit, and then produced for the album. However, to say that she sang everything on that record and then that was presented to the other Dolls would be false, and it can easily be disproven by simply listening to the album.

The better story here is why were the other dolls not allowed solos, or even background vocals on most Pussycat Dolls’ songs?

I LOVED Behind The Music but this episode left me with an “…ok, and?” I think it was a bit too early in her career for one.

“I hope I don’t get into trouble for all the stuff that I say”

oh really? Her expression and her words tell different stories

    6. I don’t know if anyone has seen Building the Band on Netflix but I did have to chortle whenever Nicole (as judge/mentor) tried to call a contestant out for making the band about themselves or refusing to blend/collaborate.

Like, Nicole you’re famously the QUEEN of that.

Nicole is very talented, but she chooses to be messy and whatnot about the wrong things. All the other Dolls could carry a tune or better. They just refused to let them do anything so that Nicole was the “singer”

I never liked her after this. Like did she expect the public to believe the other girls didn’t want to sing? We clearly knew that if this was true, it’s because they weren’t allowed to.

People acting like any of the members of that group had any kind of autonomy within it. They were paid a salary and told what to do. Nicole had recorded the album and they came in afterwards to add their…. bits.

It’s not Nicole’s problem, it was their management. It was only ever PCD in name and image to make money.

    10. It’s the way she thinks people didn’t already know this or something people were always wondering why the other girls didn’t sing
