Here’s my theory: perhaps she discovered her husband’s background far too late, similar to many impulsive light-skinned women who enter relationships without careful consideration, primarily seeking attention and material gain. Only after deciding to manipulate their relationship to escape did she act. Her son is evidently a burden, prompting her to devise a plan to have him taken away by staging his abduction, particularly during a global recession. Her husband is aware of his past but now understands that she may be attempting to undermine him (Bending his head + Lawyer), her feeling threatened for some reason, which is why she sought legal counsel only after the fact.
