The secret is American exceptionalism isn’t real. We got here by believing that our democracy was just inherently promised because we are the US. We still refuse to accept that there are Americans that genuinely hate democracy. It’s not “if they could only see, they would change.” What is going on a significant portion of the population APPROVES. People that think women shouldn’t vote, black people shouldn’t own land. And that is why if you look around, it’s the black women that have been brave enough to stand up and say what needs to be said out loud. Because they know. Look, I know they’re stupid but I didn’t think they were stupid enough to think releasing tapes of Ghislaine praising him would make him look better in the context of the Epstein stuff. It’s great for him to hear but consider how he’s trying to distance himself from the allegations, the madam saying he was always great to her probably isn’t the right move
