Yes other artists have variants too, but they don’t make count down shit show like this.

For each of these drops, one of the two LP mock-ups was just eh. Each cover should’ve had one variant and they all should’ve dropped together for pre-order

    4. I like Taylor and am looking forward to this album but for the love of god no more fucking variants

I don’t care that she’s not forcing anyone to buy the variants. This is fucking ridiculous.

    6. It was so nice having her gone for a while. Girl people are hurting under this regime you probably 99% support with your Neanderthal man, read the fucking room.

“Shiny bug collection” “tiny bubbles in champagne collection” this is the most uninspired grifting BS I’ve ever seen. I used to be fairly indifferent to Taylor Swift but I’m starting to feel a bit aggravated. Billionaires should not exist!

Now this is just getting lazy. If you’re trying to scam your fans, at the very least she could have done different art work than simply changed the colours.

      *Taylor

    9. She’s not gonna beat Adele’s record imo. If it didn’t happen during the peak of Eras tour mania I doubt it will happen now.

So between CDs and vinyls, that’s nine different products before she even announces a *release date for a LEAD SINGLE.* This is fully moving the goalposts. Releasing 35 different versions of the same album after its release is one thing, but she’s doing all this without giving consumers any preview of the “product” (which is *supposed* to be the music). How are her fans not like “oh she treats us like we’re all rubes!”?

She acts like she knows people will buy it and defend it no matter what it sounds like. I just popped into the TS sub to see what they’re saying, and people are literally being told that they’re “stealing joy” for tepidly saying they’re disappointed that they don’t have a single yet.

This woman could single handedly make a massive dent in world hunger but noooo

    12. I am so bored and tired of this album release already, lordt give me strength there’s only a quarter of 2025 left but it’s gonna feel so long

    13. For just 1 purchase a day you too can support a pick me billionaire in need.

The album isn’t even here yet and I‘m already done with this. Can’t she just take a vacation — preferably a very, very long one?

    15. Late stage capitalism aside, as a product designer I am excited to finally see these great effects in mainstream vinyl.

Everyone’s too safe with black, give me glow in the dark glitter! The plastic can do so much more! I want someone to use BLOOD or PEARL effects.

    16. If your album can’t chart the way you’d like it to organically without making your fans buy the same thing multiple times just accept that, damn.

I realize this is a little besides the point but I keep seeing these referred to as “variants” and is that just the industry term these days or is there a distinction that precludes them from being referred to as “limited editions”? (Or has “variants” been around for years and I just never noticed?)
