The Israeli military has claimed its attack on the southern Gaza hospital this week, which killed at least 21 people, including five journalists, targeted a camera positioned in the area by Hamas to surveil Israeli troops.
“In light of this, the force acted to destroy the camera,” the army said.
Israel routinely justifies its deadly attacks across the Gaza Strip by saying it was targeting Hamas.
The attack on Nasser Hospital on Monday was a so-called “double-tap”, with Israeli forces bombing the facility, then waiting for emergency responders and journalists to arrive on the scene before bombing it a second time.
Human rights groups have accused the Israeli military of committing war crimes in its indiscriminate bombardment of Gaza, with a recent report finding that 83 percent of all those killed since Israel began its war on the enclave have been civilians.

Apparently it’s okay to bomb hospitals if an enemy is being treated there, it’s okay to bomb the residence of enemy combatants no matter how many of their kids live there, it’s okay to commit any war crime so long as there is a tangential chance of possibly harming the enemy combatant …
We all know they’re lying but the lies are good enough for our spineless/dishonest politicians to repeat them so Israel can continue their genocide.
One thing these outlets can do to retaliate against Israel’s killing of their journalists is to stop reporting their nonsense or at to frame it for the garbage that it is. And stop having Israeli spox repeating their unverifiable propaganda on their screens.

Even if this was true, which it blatantly isn’t, how could they think that bombing an entire hospital twice to take out a camera would be a justified action?
They should just stop trying to justify their criminal behavior. Nobody with power will do anything at all, as it’s been proven, so they’re just clogging the media with these excuses that aren’t needed. The global north will keep funding this, no matter how many journalists, aid workers, children, women and men they kill.
