Sam is so fake. There is no way he was in love with a woman who frankly, both acts and LOOKS like a shell of her former self. From the bad teeth to bad hair tracks and psychotic behavior, no way he was in love. He used her because she was easy, and has leveraged his connection to her to now start his acting career.
Anyone in their right mind can see and knows she's not okay overall.
