Yorgos with the Palestine pin <3

(he has partecipated in fundraisers for Gaza, signed letters, is married to a super politically active woman, it’s easy not to be a zionist. Unlike some other assholes we’ve already seen – too many in only 24 hours – in Venice)

I don’t think this remake was needed (the original is batshit crazy) but i’ll watch cause yorgos. Wish he’d cast someone else though, I like Emma in his films but time for something new.

    2. Pls don’t remind me of the affair rumor 😭😭 I don’t want to believe it

It’s only their fourth collaboration, isn’t it? The Favourite, Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness, and now Bugonia.

I didn’t care for Poor Things (though I didn’t think it was anti-feminist or exploitative like a lot of peopleĀ did) but I’m very excited for this one. They clearly enjoy working together and their collaboration has paid enormous dividends for both of them. I wish we lived in a world where men and women could have creative partnerships without people insisting that it could only be because they’re having sex.

      Deep sigh.

Outside of The Favourite, I haven’t liked any of their films together and I’d really like to see her in something else.

As other users have pointed out Yorgos is actually one of the few more outspoken in Hollywood regarding Gaza so šŸ‘šŸ½. But I also must agree that he needs to probably work with people outside of Emma & he might find actors more suited to his work. For me, her acting only works sometimes (sorry to her fans, but I don’t think she has that great of a range). Anyways all this to say good on Yorgos for speaking out & that Emma’s probably going to get nominated again (& jlaw probably will too with her Lynne film).

    6. Hope they make 50 movies together, go watch Kinds of Kindness if you haven’t already!!!

    7. Fully prepared to get downvoted for this…but I’m tired of their collab! I used to *love* Yorgos’ films, but my taste is soured after Poor Things. Not because of the subject matter, but because his adaptation was so offensively unaligned with Alistair Gray’s novel that I, an American woman, was offended on behalf of Scottish people. I was willing to let that go, but Kinds of Kindness left me WHELMED and feeling WEIRD. The unnecessary sex scenes…the way he uses and frames her body…it’s icky and all getting very old.

      This is my Swift/Kelce engagement

(I know they aren’t a couple, but I love the babies they make)

Many actors do lots of work with singular directors.

I don’t know why everyone’s pissed about this one set?

I’ve only seen Poor Things but it was phenomenal.Ā  I love an ending like that. Kinda like Midsommer. IFKYK
