She’s right and she should say it. Even if Ostapenko is just generally unpleasant trash, the fact that she came for a Black woman the way she did was racist. You can be an asshole to everyone and also be racist. They aren’t mutually exclusive.
Ostapenko is not only an unapologetic racist asshole but also the stupidest player in women’s pro tennis right now… she literally tried to argue against the electronic line-calling system. Which relies on video!!! 🚮
I’m glad she’s calling it like it is. I hate these headlines framing it as “drama.” Sure Ostapenko is known for this pathetic behavior, but it’s clearly racism. It’s not “drama.” It’s disgusting.
I will never say Black women are above criticism but people are getting entirely too comfortable calling accomplished Black women stupid.
