Snoop Dogg Slams LGBTQ+ Representation in Kids Movies | E! News

These are kids that we have to show that at this age like that that part they’re going to ask questions. Yeah. Snoop Dogg’s latest comments are raising eyebrows. After taking one of his grandchildren to see the Disney film Lightyear, the rapper recalls during an episode of the Its Giving podcast being shocked to see an LGBTQ plus couple represented on the big screen. So, we watching it and the lady, which is Kiki’s mama, they move on into the space years. They move down the line. Like, man, she had a baby with a woman. Why my grandson in the middle of the movie like, “Papa Snoop, how she have a baby with a woman? She a woman.” Oh, I didn’t come in for this. Just came to watch a goddamn movie. So, it’s like I’m scared to go to the movies like y’all throwing me in the middle of that. I don’t have an answer for. What was your What’ you tell them? I watched the movie. It’s just popcorn. Sh. You said we don’t know. We don’t know. It threw me for a loop. I’m like, “What part of the movie was this? These are kids that we have to show that at this age like that that part they’re going to ask questions. Yeah. Enews has reached out to Snoop’s reps for further comment but has not yet heard back. Lightyear’s representation of a same-sex couple caused quite a bit of controversy at the time of its release with countries like Saudi Arabia banning it altogether. At one point, the scene was even cut from the film per Variety before it was later added back following former CEO Bob Chapek’s apology for the company’s silence surrounding Florida’s Don’t Say Gay Bill. He wrote in a March 2022 email to employees, “Speaking to you, reading your messages, and meeting with you have helped me better understand how painful our silence was. You needed me to be a stronger ally in the fight for equal rights, and I let you down. I am sorry. [Music]

    1. Did… people forget foster care and adoption exist? What if it was a man and woman who had a baby by way of adoption or fostering? Like. Y'all it's two moms, or two dads for other series of media or whatever. It's really not that hard to explain. Like do y'all do that with straight couples?

Do y'all get uppity when Ariel and Eric or Rapunzel and Flynn Rider or even Aurora and Phillip kiss on screen or act lovey dovey? Or what about Esmeralda and Phoebus.

Like. There's worse to raise a stink about rn in media and honestly I'm glad I'm no longer this guys fan. Shame that this is how he thinks tbh.

Also before anyone says anything, I have many friends and even family members who either came from a household of same s3x parents or are a same s3x couple themselves. And guess what? They're the kindest, caring and nicest people you will ever meet. They're wonderful support systems, better than my own family where I had a mom and a dad.

Grow up ppl. Seriously. Its embarrassing you're this pressed about a movie.

    2. So ain't no Straight couple Gonna kiss each other in kids Movies that's folly asf to even Mention at that young age better yet Degrading in a Movie of Remembering…. Shhhhhhhh watch the Movie eat this Popcorn💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 in think About the answer 🤫🤫 you Don't have to like a person to Show a person you can care with things now that's Growth .

    3. I don’t see anything wrong Snoop said. He wasn’t bashing the LGBT community. He raises a good concern about how unexpected questions affect his relationship to his family and seems more unsure about dealing with youth in a new age that previous generations might have not been prepared for since media was different

    4. I do support the LGBTQ community, but when it comes to younger audience like kids that don’t know about this, like watching this movie, like just go with it and explain not too much of the details until the kids are grown up so they can understand what it means because I found out between as a senior in middle school or in high school that I have no problem with it which is different to me.
