Sawyer Hemsley, the founder of Crumble Cookies, comes out as gay. The baked goods mogul takes to Instagram and explains that he chose to share the news after there was speculation about him online. He says in a candid post on the platform, “The truth is, over the past few years, I’ve come to understand and accept that I’m gay. It’s taken me a long time to really process this part of myself, and even longer to feel comfortable enough to say it out loud.” The 33-year-old adds, “Coming to terms with it has been overwhelming and at times scary, but it has also brought me peace, joy, and authenticity that I wouldn’t trade for anything.” He also mentions his Mormon upbringing, saying in the post, “I grew up with values and beliefs that I still deeply love and respect, which made this journey more complicated, but I remain grateful for my foundation even as I’ve worked to embrace this truth about myself.” Following his post, fans jumped in the comments to share their support with one user writing, “I love you and I’m so proud of you.
