I spoke about this when it happened, but I want to speak about it again more in a long form format. This was insane, guys. Guys, guys, guys, this was absolutely insane. For people that don’t know, Kendall Jenner wore these $2 tank tops to a Knicks game and all of a sudden all these girls on Tik Tok suddenly found out that you can wear white tank tops as like a clothing item as like an item of clothing. Like it took people Kendall Jenner to wear a white tank top for them to know, oh, people actually wear tank tops. Like can you imagine how cooked, mentally cooked people are that they walk into every every single fashion store offers white tank tops. Everywhere from fast fashion stores like you know H& to Zara they all have wank tank white tank tops in there to Arquette and CO they have white tank tops to Prada and Bayga Veneta they have white tank tops and the people on Tik Tok literally had the audacity the audacity to say things like well it’s not our fault that we it wasn’t marketed towards us until now. Are these people just are they blind? Do they just go around with their eyes closed when they go shopping? Do they just like close their eyes while they can’t see anything? Because why would someone need to market white tank tops to someone? That is just so not necessary. Is it? What is next? I didn’t know underwear existed. It’s just underwear was not marketed towards us. So, I just didn’t know that it was. And so I have some lovely examples for you guys to watch on Tik Tok of exactly what I’m talking about. Exactly what I’m talking about. And then after we can have a field day reading the comments. I’m freaking It’s not too cropped. I don’t know if that’s actually true, but they do look pretty similar. Guys, I’m freaking. It’s not too cropped. It’s like kind of sheer, which I like. I’d probably wear it like this. Very effortless, but like kind of sexy. And I’ve also been seeing a lot of people layering tanks, which I think is perfect with this. The summer staple if these Hannes little boys. Now these fashion girlies are turning $2 Hannes tank tops to fashion staple. Like people have been wearing Hannes tank tops forever. Like I I play basketball, right? I’ve been a hooper since I was a kid. Hannes tank tops are the goto like hooper loweffort like tank tops. Literally Hannes tank tops are like literally part of the starter kit of like the guy that doesn’t put any effort into his hoop fit. He just gets out of bed, throws on the Hannes tank top, and then goes to play basketball. Yeah. It’s like the ‘ 90s R&B. Like in the 90s and the 2000s, the women would wear these tank tops and like in a really like cool kind of way and then the men would just wear like the tank tops with really massive shorts, like insanely outrageous shorts. It’s insane that these people have to be marketed. Like why do people I understand some things you have to be marketed towards but there’s certain items that you should know what they are and you should know that they exist and you should know that they can be worn as like a fashion thing. Like how can you not know that you can wear white tank tops as a fashion thing. That’s very concerning. I’m concerned like Tik Tok brain is is is yeah it’s cooking us. Someone said sorry I saw a good comment earlier. Do you think they pay publications to post about this? Potentially, because I think they know that if publications post about it, then they can make a lot of money if they can make it a trend, which obviously has worked in this situation. Did Hannes pay her behind the scenes and then buy a story about it potentially. So, even if Haynes did that, right? So even if Haynes like paid Kendall Jenner to wear it and then paid photographers to take the picture so that they could pay to run the story in fashion magazines, even then the people that are still saying, “Oh my god, this is a fashion staple. Kendall Jenner wore this tank top.” And imagine, “Oh my god, it’s $2.” They are the ones that are the cooked ones because they should know that those exist already. They are the ones that are cooked. It’s like you lack any sort of personal identity to the point where you won’t consider anything fashionable until in very ultra famous celebrity wears it. That’s insane. That is so insane. I think that’s the saddest part about all of it to be honest. Like the fact that these people don’t think for themselves. The funny thing is I was going to make a video about this when the whole viral Haley Bieber cap scarf combo was floating around like a year ago, but I held off. I charged it to the game. However, this Christopher Columbusing of a Hannes tank top is egregious. It’s upsetting me and my home girls. Okay, to be honest, it really is. Ask yourself, why does it take a white woman for something to be considered stylish, fashionable, cool for it to get your attention? Why? That therein is the problem. Fashion is universal. It’s global. You do not need to be a specific shade to be considered stylish. You do not need to be a specific gender to be considered stylish. Okay, I’m going to get off my soap box because we need to get to the actual good part. White tanks. It is something that I know very well. It’s also something I happen to know a lot about. I’m just going to let you know, speaking from experience, a Hannes white tank is only going to take you but so far. They’re cute, they’re cheap, they’re convenient, but they only last like three washes in the laundry. So, coming from a white tank connoisseur, let me tell you my favorites. I recently picked up this tank, I want to say last month. Zara will always have some version of a white tank in store, but this one is a bit different because it’s a little bit more in step with this season’s trend. She’s educating the girlies that haven’t heard of a white tank top for whatever reason. I like that. I like that. I have a white tank for every occasion. And with this one, I like to wear it with more elevated looks. So, think pair of trousers or a silk skirt. I think I paid around $10 for this. It’s a little low, a little sexy, but it’s not too much. Slightly sheer, but if you don’t mind going balless, this will not be a problem for you. Also notice that this material gets softer the more you wash it, so it just gets better and better in my opinion. I do tend to wear this tied for a cropped look.
