Maren Morris dated ‘losers’ after her divorce

Marin Morris just rocked the stage in the Hamptons at a star-studded event and she opened up about her personal life, too. Here with more is Page 16 reporter Mara Seagler. You were at the show. I’m so jealous. It was amazing. Um Howard Stern was there with his wife Beth. They were very cute. They were holding hands. I was right behind them. They were holding hands during the show. He was in a great mood. Um didn’t seem to be bothered or worried about any serious XM retirement rumors. Not at all. He was like when he wasn’t holding hands, he was snapping. He’s snapping along with his other hand. Um, the king of the Hamptons. Who else was there? Uh, Chef Bobby Fle. Jason Biggs introduced Marin up to the stage. Is this his event? The Soho Sessions. Soho Sessions. Um, Jason Biggs is actually friends with the two founders of the Soho Sessions. He he told me cuz I was like, “How did you get involved?” Um, and so Jason told me that he saw an article, the New York Times did an article about when Paul Simon played one of these Soho sessions, which is actually like an intimate invite only concert that brings a lot of big stars out and they make big donations to charities. So, you have to be invited, but you’re also very much expected to dole out the cash for a good cause. Um, but Jason said that he read about it. He thought it was super cool and so he slid into one of the founders DMs. I love this. And said, “Hey, like this is super cool. They got coffee. They became pals and now he was like, you know, hosting the night in the Hamptons and now he’s rubbing elbows with the Seinfelds. Ex. They were not there. I wish that they were there, but um Don Lemon was there. Oh. Uh Kelly Benone was there. Very like Hampton’s crowd. And then you had a lot of like locals because um so it was at the iconic Steven House which is a really famous historic place. Everyone has played there from Sting. I saw Ed Sheeran one year. Cirrus XM does a lot of their concerts there, but it’s just a place that people pop up and you always know that you were going to have like the most epic night ever. And it makes sense that an intimate setting might also get some personal details, personal revelations might come out. So Marin actually talked about her her romantic life on stage. She did. So the new album, it just came out. It’s called Dreamsicle, and it’s about her divorce. She got divorced. Um it got finalized in October 2023. Um, and she was married to another singer named Ryan Herd and they both live in Nashville, which I guess is a pretty small community, especially if you’re in that singer songwriter crowd. Big fair, small pond. Yeah. So, she was saying that the new album is about the divorce and its aftermath. It was great. She kind of gave a behind the scenes about the songwriting of each of the songs. And she said there’s one called Too Good. And she was saying that it’s about her dating after her divorce. And I think the ladies all know out there that are single. She said that she dated some bums who couldn’t pay for the date. And she took it to her songwriters like, “I’m dating some losers. I’m having this stroke of bad luck. Let’s do a song.” I love it. It’s like a country version of No Scrubs. Oh my gosh, the song is amazing, too. I mean, everybody in there, it’s like a very It should It should have been the song. It’ll be the song of the last days of summer. I know. And it’s summer without a song of the summer. This one could be it. We actually have what Marin said on stage right here. She said, “I started dating a little bit after my divorce and just met some bums that couldn’t pay the tab. I brought to my coowwriters this idea and I was like, I’ve been dating a few losers. I think it’s just a stroke of bad luck. It’s going to end soon.” You know what? Good for her, cuz I’m in the same boat and I’m not writing any songs about it. So, at least she’s turning it into a positive. And I think that she’s moved on since then. And obviously, she’s been working on the album for a while, but there was news. She came out as bisexual a little bit ago, and there was news that she was dating somebody. I’m not sure if they’re still together or not. So, things are looking much happier. A lot more options for her are opening up. Oh my gosh. And who cares? She’s got a great new album. So, Dreamsicle, it’s screaming song of the summer, Dreamsicle. And I remember Last Pride when Marin came out, she had such a cute way to put it. She says, “I’m the bee in LGBTQ.” Cute. Which I love that. I mean, it was a very good show. Um, there was another singer named Yola who opened. Uh, she did a cover of Prince that I will say Howard Stern was very into. Um, and then afterwards some guys from the band that had played with Yola, I don’t know if they’re like the house band or what, but they got on stage and kept the party going and sang Grateful Dead tunes. So, it was like a very, very cool night. Such a mellow Monday night. And just I’m so I’m so jealous. You have the coolest job. Thank you. All right.
