Robin Wright Reveals Why She Left the U.S. & Moved to England | E! News
Robin Wright is revealing why she left the US for England. During an interview with the Times London, published August 30th, the actress shares why she left Hollywood several years ago for the English countryside, telling the outlet, “America is a show, I love being in this country. There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind.” And beyond the hospitality, the Princess Bride star, who shares kids Dylan and Hopper with ex-husband Shaun Penn, wanted to work in a calmer atmosphere as Los Angeles’s fast-paced lifestyle was starting to take a toll on her. She continues, “They’re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That’s most of America. Everything’s rush, competition, and speed. Everyone’s building a huge house, and I’m just done with all that. I love the quiet, and I’ve met my person, finally. Indeed, the House of Cards alum found love with her boyfriend Henry Smith while living in England, explaining, “I’m turning 16, and I’m like, is this it? I love being alone and I’ve done that many times. But I’m like, I want to grow old with somebody and travel and see the world. [Music]
