Why Hilaria Baldwin Kept DWTS a Secret From Her Kids | E! News

Um, well, some of my kids don’t know yet because they would have they would have told everybody. This is the first day you guys are all fully together, right? Yeah. I feel like it’s making it like a little bit more real. I mean, I feel like it’s not going to be like real real till we’re there on the 16th and like you know doing but it’s just nice to feel the energy and I mean I feel like so much of this experience of like the past week and a half that I’ve like been doing this it was like a really last minute thing has been what am I doing? So like to be in a room full of other people that are kind of like asking the same thing. I mean not not on the pro side but like on the on the other side um is like a little like makes me feel a little bit like I’m not alone. Yeah. And as as the pro dancer, how is she doing so far? What are those rehearsals been like? She’s doing great. She wants to learn how to dance. It’s all about the craft and you know the performance and um brings so much like hard work and focus and it’s like okay you really want to like know all about the you know the actual you know the basics like the very basic um and you know I’ve been doing it for the for 35 years and I’ve been with the show for 14 years so to have a student and a partner like is just you know dream come true. I’m really excited about it and like, you know, I mean, I I danced a bit as a, you know, when I was younger and I had a bad injury and I couldn’t walk for a year and it so like to be able to reconnect with it like this while I’m older and I feel like I can enjoy things in a in a different a little bit more mature way. I’m really excited to connect with that part of myself again. And how are the kids and Alec feeling? Are they excited? Are they supportive? Are they ready to watch? Are they going to come to Yes, they will be there. They will be there. I love it. What what was their reaction when you got the call that you’d be on the show? Um well some of my kids don’t know yet because they would have they would have told everybody or at that age because I was like so they but they’ve been trying to guess cuz they know they were doing a show. I’m doing a show and it’s in LA and it’s has dancing and I’m a mom. So they’ve come up with dance moms and I just have like said nothing. I was like okay I’ll tell you guys tonight up when they’re back from school going to be excited and like we said such an amazing cast. Anyone else that you’re excited to get to meet and hang out with during the season for you both? I think everyone. Everyone has like such a good energy. We’re like already became a family. We’re going to root on for everyone and support and um yeah. [Music]

After the latest cast of Dancing With the Stars was announced on Sept. 3, E! News spoke with Hilaria Baldwin and her pro partner Gleb Savchenko about the upcoming season and how her husband Alec Baldwin and their kids will be supporting her in the competition.
