my cousin could not go to regular school because he’d get fidgety every 20 mins.

he was home schooled (until 5th grade). his mom (qualified teacher) gave the same lessons as regular school, but in smaller doses and a lot of 20 mins recesses.

At a very scary time to pursue a diagnosis, I think it’s probably good to see celebs go public with theirs. On one hand, I’m worried that it’ll be twisted into an example of “well, neurodivergence didn’t stop them from becoming famous, so you must just be deficient,” but on the other I still think silence is more dangerous. Either way, I’m always happy to read about people figuring it out and getting support. He seems generally decent for a celeb, too. We could have way worse than guys who want to support others and start accessible schools.

God this brings back memories of just how broken the education system is. My best friend went through secondary school struggling and only got diagnosed with dyslexia when she pursued a further education course at university. One of the smartest women in my life and I always wonder what she could have achieved had she had that help early on.
