How DWTS’ Derek Hough is Preparing For His “Zaddy” Era | E! News

Congratulations. A new addition to your family coming soon. How are you feeling? I can’t believe it, man. I’m going to be a daddy and and maybe even a zatty. If I if I can do a few more situps and I can get that Dylan Dylan Efron abs. I’ve already been asking him. I’m like, “Hey, dude. What are you doing, man? Like, am I eating the wrong things here? Cuz my abs do not look like that.” Like, let’s go. How do you feel going into this season? What do you think our fans can expect? I think the fans can expect a competitive season. a competitive season, a season with a lot of social media because I feel like that’s a lot of the the cast have that down. Um, so you’re not just gonna get the show, you’re going to get a 24/7 show. Um, but it’s going to be competitive because I think everybody are here to to to do well, to learn to dance and to win honestly. You know, I think sometimes people join the show and they’re like, “Yeah, I want to like, you know, I want to I want to like, you know, promote something or No, the people are here. They’re here because they like the show.” The cast is amazing. I was going to ask you, how long have you known about this cast? Did you know this was the finalist? I I just found out about somebody last night. Um, and then I’ve known some people since May, you know what I mean? But I I don’t try to find out. I don’t try No, I I see people, they’re all trying to figure it out. I’m And I guess that’s kind of fun. But my personal preference is finding out is like today like let’s all experience this together because you’re gonna know the cast for forever, you know, after that wine. So let’s savor the mystery. Let’s savor it. Like what’s it like for you to witness this whole new like you mentioned generation of people that are on the social media side that are watching. You’re watching with your families. It’s become a real phenomenon. Well, no. It’s it’s the show that like 20 years ago you’d be like, “Hey, by the way, this ballroom dance show is going to be thriving in 20 years because one, it’s a great show, but two, because the climate, social media is going to be this new thing. It’s gonna be this thing. I’m like, what? What is this social media thing you’re talking about, you know, where we’re going to this show lends itself perfectly, you know, to that that world of like sharing and and celebrity and dancing and it’s like the perfect story. You think about Tik Tok, you’re like, “Oh, wait a minute. Oh, that’s like this show is actually perfect for that.” So, it was amazing. It’s amazing. Yeah, we’re lucky. [Music]
