Get ready because the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards are about to take over New York. We’re talking big names, bigger performances, and yes, plenty of moon people to hand out. The show goes live this Sunday, September 7th, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, 5 Pacific, broadcasting on CBS for the first time ever. And of course, simo casting on MTV. And don’t forget the pre-show on MTV at 7 PM hosted by Nessa and Cavan Kenny with Cats EA hitting the stage. Now, who’s running the party? That would be LL CoolJ back on VMA hosting duties while also up for best hip-hop video alongside Eminem. Talk about multitasking. And the lineup absolutely stacked. We’re talking Lady Gaga, Doaat, Post Malone, Sabrina Carpenter, Jelly Roll, Jay Balvin with DJ Snake, Tate McCrae, Conan Gay, Alex Warren, Somber, and that’s not even the full list. Jessica and Ashley Simpson, Carara, Drew Barrymore, Ice Spice, Lotto, Paris Hilton, Hi Bailey, Lil NasX, uh-oh, Megan Stalter, Nikki Glazer, Britney Snow, Malin Arian, even the cast of K-pop Demon Hunters making their live debut. For the night’s biggest honor, that belongs to Mariah Carey, finally receiving the Video Vanguard Award and gracing the VMA stage for the first time in two decades. Expect nothing short of a career spanning glitter drenched performance. On the nominees front, Lady Gaga leads the pack with 12 nods, trailed closely by Bruno Mars with 11 and Kendrick Lamar with 10. Sabrina Carpenter, Rosé, Ariana Grande, The Weekend, Billy Isish, and Tate McCrae are also heavy contenders. Plus, firsttime nominees like Alex Warren, Laney Wilson, and even aostumous nod for M.
