Charlie Sheen Shares What He Regrets About Two and a Half Men | E! News
Charlie Sheen reveals what he regrets about being fired from Two and a Half Men. The 60-year-old admits his 2011 exit from the beloved sitcom over his public struggles with drug addiction is a dark spot in his memory. He tells People magazine in an interview published September 3rd. I regret that specifically still. If I hadn’t done what I had, I could be living a different life right now. All my problems wouldn’t be what they are, but you just don’t know that. Since departing the series, which also starred John Crier and Angus T. Jones, the actor began his sobriety journey and has worked on tackling the destruction his addiction caused. Charlie tells the outlet, “Forgiveness is still an evolving thing. I still get what I call the shame shivers. These are the moments that hit me of the heinous memories and choices and consequences. They’re getting farther in between, so I guess that’s progress.” He adds, “What has been interesting about making amends is that most people have been like, hey, yeah, we’re good, man, but we hope you’ve also forgiven yourself.” And that personal healing has played a part in his new projects, a memoir titled The Book of Sheen and a Netflix documentary titled Aka Charlie Sheen, releasing September 9th and 10th, respectively. He explains, “It’s not about me setting the record straight or writing all the wrongs of my past. Most of my 50s were spent apologizing to the people I hurt. I also didn’t want to write from the place of being a victim. I wasn’t. And I own everything I did. It’s just me finally telling the stories in the way they actually happened. The stories I can remember anyway. [Music]
