Adèle Haenel has been one of a handful of actual feminist activists in France. In 2020, she led a walk-out from the César Awards in protest against child rapist Roman Polanski being awarded during the event. Haenel has consistently called out the rampant systemic gender-based and sexual abuse within the French film industry and the hypocrisy among performative "feminists" who do nothing but whitewash and cover up these abuses. In 2023, she announced that she'd quit the French film industry.

She’s awesome! I have so much respect for her acting abilities and persona (especially when she walked out of the award ceremony when they gave Roman Polanski a reward in 2019 or 2020 I believe).
Ohhhh wow, I’ve heard her name before but I had no idea what an amazing, brave woman she is! I hope they’re gonna be succesfull with their mission. It is historic what they’re doing.
Respect for calling out the film industry abuse. She’s one brave gal.
