You’re so beautiful. Oh, color on you. Thank you so much. I was about to say I love this dress. Thank you. So happy to have you back here on the VMA’s red carpet. How does it feel for you to be back on this one? I mean, honestly, it’s kind of surreal. It feels like the first time. Like, I know it’s supposed to be like riding a bike, but I’m not good at riding bikes, so I don’t really know another analogy to use. Um, but I’m just here to enjoy it. Um Ricky Martin asked me to present him with the Latin icon award and I opened for him in 1999 on the Live and Levita Loca tour. So it’s full circle. Yeah. Yeah. You also have full circle that you’re here. You have new music out. Congratulations. How does how does it feel to have this this body of work out into the world? And what does this project mean to you? Well, this body of work, it’s called Nashville Canyon, and it’s something that is straight from my heart and my soul. I’m not with a record label this time around, so I got to do exactly what I wanted and it’s genreless and it’s it’s just all the music that I love and it’s the poetry from my heart. How what was your kids’ reaction to the music and how excited are they for this this era for you? Kids love the music. My youngest Birdie is my like entertainer singer. Yeah, we we all get like written tickets with markers, have to sit around the couch, you know, we all have our places and she performs for us for like hours. Love that. Speaking of performing, Ashley’s residency, I saw you, Eric, your parents, everyone was there. How important was it for the whole family to come out and support her? I mean, we are all a big, happy family, so it’s important for all. I mean, we wouldn’t have missed Ashley. Are you kidding me? Like, it was such a moment. And I was a mess. I cried. I cried probably seven times. Wow. And and I think I know her lyrics better than my old my my own old songs. Like I was like, I think I know Ashley’s music better than mine. We love that you have new music. We have to say we also love seeing you on our screen. Can we ever see you do any other type of reality show or come back to our screen in that way? Um I’m in the process of shooting a documentary. So that’s as reality as you get as a reality show as it get. [Music]
