The Prince of Darkness was given a fitting VMA sendoff. Era Smith, Steven Tyler, and Joe Perry led a musical tribute to the late Azie Osborne at the MTV VMAs on September 7th alongside Young Blood and Nuno Bennett Court. They honored the Black Sabbath co-founder with a medley of his biggest hits. Azie died in England in July, just weeks after he reunited with Black Sabbath bandmates and musical peers for what their official website called his farewell performance. In the years leading up to his death at 76 from a heart attack, Ozie had faced health struggles, including a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. In his September 3rd YouTube video, his son, Jack Osborne, says about his dad’s death, there was a level of like, okay, he’s not he’s not suffering anymore. You know, he’s not he’s not struggling. I wish he was still here. I wish he was, you know, still with us all, but he was he was having a rough go. He was happy to kind of move into this next phase of his life. He wanted to to spend more time in England. He wanted to spend more time with my kids. He wanted to spend more time with just exploring different things. [Music] [Music]

Steven Tyler? Their voices are entirely different. And Steven is the epitome of arrogance and Ozzy❤ was not. I hope it’s better than I think it will be. Ozzy deserved the best.
