How Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, & Prince William Honored Queen Elizabeth On Death Anniversary
The royal family is honoring Queen Elizabeth on the third anniversary of her death. On Monday, September 8th, Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance alongside her husband, Prince William, to pay tribute to the longest reigning monarch in British history as they visited the National Federation of Women’s Institute, WI, in Sunningdale, England. In photos published from their outing, the couple can be seen enjoying tea and biscuits with members. The Prince of Wales reportedly spoke about his late grandmother’s connection to the organization according to the BBC as he shared quote three years ago my grandmother passed away. I know she was a big part of the WI and she used to talk about it a lot so this is a huge honor for me. I can’t believe it’s 3 years already. The late queen had been a member of the institute from 1943 until her death in 2022. She also served as president of the Sandringham branch taking on the role in 2003. Meanwhile, Prince Harry returned to the UK and paid his respects to the monarch at her burial site, where he laid a wreath on her grave. The Duke of Sussex will later appear at the Wellchild Charity Awards. It’s unclear whether the 40-year-old, whose wife Megan Markle and kids, Archie and Lily, remained in California, will reunite with his father or other family members during his visit. However, he is expected to stay a bit longer than in previous trips. [Music]
