VMAs 2025 best-dressed: Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, more | Currently Trending

If the Grammys are music’s biggest night, the VMAs are undoubtedly its wildest, particularly when it comes to the fashion. At MTV’s annual award show, we’ve seen Rose McGawen shock viewers in a barely there beaded dress, Lil Kim take the stage in a purple sequin jumpsuit and matching pasty, Britney Spears dance in a sparkling nude mesh set, and Christina Aguilera style a scarf as a skimpy top. All within the span of just 5 years. So, who stood out style-wise on 2025’s red carpet? Sabrina Carpenter brought the heat in red hot Valentino, pairing her sparkling see-through lace gown with a fluffy lavender feather boa. Perhaps a saratoral nod to the life of a showgirl, her upcoming collaboration with fellow pop superstar Taylor Swift. Camp fashion icon Doaat paired her Harley Quinn pattern Belma dress with pairlessly high platforms and nearly 90 karat of pink sapphires and diamonds from Chopard. The playful piesta resistance, a $5,995 crystallized Judith Liber Couture clutch shaped like an oversized tube of lipstick from which she procured a tube of the actual makeup to apply and eat in front of photographers. Ariana Grande traded Glenda Pink for Fendy polka dots on the red carpet, looking pretty and polished as ever in her strapless pepleum gown with a matching spotted scarf tied around her signature ponytail. By the way, Ari definitely won the award for most outfit changes at this year’s VMAs. Over the course of the evening, she also wore a glittering Tamar Ralph Couture gown, a sculptural black and white ball gown from Steo Smith, and a tutu inspired Givveni dress. You can take the girl out of Oz, I guess, but you can’t take the Oz out of the girl. Both Tyler and Sierra chose to leave their pants at home for the evening with the former in a vintage Chanel corset top and the latter in a scarlet neoprene bomber by Scaparelli. And Tyla wasn’t the only star who opted for an archival look either. Ice Spice showed up in a corset and patchwork skirt from Ralph Lauren’s spring 2003 collection. Together with her candy floss pink hair, the effect was very Marian Twinette on the farm. And I mean that in the best possible way.
