Charlie Sheen Shares How His Kids & Family Reacted to His Candid Documentary | E! News

Netflix recently held the Hollywood premiere for Charlie Sheen’s candid new documentary aka Charlie Sheen. And we spoke with him on the carpet about his decision to bear all for the world to see. Happy birthday. What a way to start this decade. Big Netflix doc. What made you say yes? I think there was enough time between all of the nonsense that you know all the chaos and the carnage and all that to finally have enough perspective to dig into it. the stories from the guy who survived them, who lived them, right? Um, and for people to finally get a chance to to hear them as they as they happened. He was the highest paid TV star of all time. Everything was fine for a while. Nobody got hurt. Nobody got arrested for a while. I just don’t know what I was trying to prove. And to take it that far and to keep pushing the envelope and chasing whatever that next thing was. I had so much evidence by that point that there was really nothing left except funeral, right? Or a wake or some, you know, something awful. The stuff that I plan on sharing, I had made a sacred vow to only reveal to a therapist. Is there anything that was off limits to you in telling this version of it? There was at first. Yeah. And then as the relationship with Renzie evolved and he said look man you know there’s the people talk about things out there and it’s like let’s just hear from you winning I can’t imagine being my dad could have really hurt the people I love. I’m curious about your friends and family too when you decide to do this. What’s the support like from them? I think as any parents would be there’s initial concern you know and not for how it would be received but how it might affect me. But once they felt like that I was confident that this was the right thing to do and the right time to do it, then they were completely supportive. I do want to just make sure we talk about the book and what we can expect from the book. I’m really excited about it. Now, the filmic version of those stories I I I think are presented wonderfully, but they can only go so far. Whereas the book, if it feels like in the dock that one of those stories only scratched the surface, the book then goes a lot deeper. [Music]
