Taylor Swift Could Be Deposed in Justin Baldoni, Blake Lively Case | E! News

Taylor Swift is being called in. According to court documents obtained by US Weekly, the Bejeweled singer has agreed to be questioned by Justin Baldon’s legal team as part of the It Ends With Us director’s ongoing legal battle with co-star Blake Lively. Belony’s attorneys note that Swift, whose song My Tears Ricochet was used in the film, would be deposed sometime between October 20th and 25th, according to September 11th documents. Per US Weekly, the Grammy winner, a close friend of Lively’s had agreed to appear for the deposition during the last week of October due to pre-existing professional obligations. According to a court timeline of the case obtained by People magazine, all depositions are to be completed by September 30th, which means Taylor’s deposition requires a judge to sign off on an extension. E-News has reached out to reps for Swift, Lively, and Beldoni for comment and has not yet heard back. Taylor’s deposition comes four months after the Karma singer’s rep clarified her involvement in the film following a subpoena from Belon’s legal team, which was later withdrawn. Her spokesperson told E! News back in May, Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie. She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, emphasizing that the singer did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release. Her team noted that Swift’s connection was giving licensing to use her track for the Colleen Hoover adapted film, for which 19 other artists also did. In December of 2024, Blake filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Beldoni and his Wayfairer Studios colleagues, publicist, and crisis PR teams, alleging them of orchestrating a smear campaign against her. Those parties deny the allegations. [Music]

    1. Taylor Swift agreed to appear for a deposition. Because if she doesn't "agree" a court order will make her most likely. Agreeing to appear is different from wanting to appear. Baldoni's lawyers didn't claim she wanted to appear for a deposition. They stated she agreed to appear for a deposition. Different things. Seems like people are fighting over word games.
