The Golden Girls and the Gummi Bears on the same day? Incredible.
I watched it first as a teenager in Ireland, not understanding many of the references (I think I thought pesto might be some kind of fish…) but loving the insight into a generation of American women who spoke plainly about things we didn’t talk about in our house. And I appreciate them more the older I get.
If this show were rebooted today, these current actresses could come on board and they would be same age as the OG cast when the show debuted:

Now just imagine Amy Adams in a retirement community.
this show got me through the second half of 2020, it’ll always have a special place in my heart 🥹
