Travis Kelce Gets Slapped in the Face by LA Chargers’ Teair Tart | E! News

Travis Kelce is shaking off the bad blood on the field. In his first game since getting engaged to Taylor Swift, Travis gets slapped in the face by Los Angeles Chargers player Thiier Tart during a match in Brazil September 5th. We’ll see what the referees say. [Applause] In video from the game, Travis is seen shoving Tiierre, which seemingly provokes the Chargers defensive tackle to slap Travis’s helmet, causing the 35-year-old to raise his hands in disbelief. A referee gives Tiierra a penalty, but he ultimately wasn’t ejected from the game as an open-handed slap doesn’t fall into the category of disqualifying actions. However, Swifties were quick to come to Travis’s defense with one user writing on X, “Do I care about football? No. Do I now have a very specific vendetta against the LA Chargers in general and tiar Tart specifically because he punched Travis Kelce in the face? Yes, I do.” However, Thiierre seems unbothered by the backlash, taking to his Instagram to troll the Swifties after the Chargers went on to beat the Chiefs 27 to2, writing in a September 6th post, “I’m too swift with it, even in Brazil.” “Not all heroes wear capes. 1. Kelce runs his big mouth with everyone constantly, even his own teammates. I love the fact he had zero respect for the loud mouth and punched him square in it! Hard! I don't even look at Travis as a Kelce, he's a "swiftie". How embarrassing for him….a "swiftie". I wonder if he listened to some of her bubblegum heart break garbage music to feel better after the game. 😂😢

    2. Talking trash is part of the game. NO ONE should ever not get rejected when hitting another player whether you like the player or not. Getting each other‘s heads as part of the game if you ever played freaking football! Maybe all players should have pacifiers so they can’t talk:( even baseball catchers get into batter’s heads…part of the game…

    3. Chargers acting like they won the super bowl after the first game of the season is what's funny…If the Chiefs have a down season, Chargers will never beat the Bills or Ravens…

    4. Kelce continued after the whistle, got slapped for it then played the victim. It is a recurring theme with him. Swifties coming to his defense is just more pathetic.

    5. Looks like he deserved what was served. Twice your size and strength. Lucky it didn’t land real hard because you might have more than a bruised ego

    6. I got the inside scoop guys. We know Tart's penalty usually results in an ejection. But it was an 'open' hand, yeah right. What happened is: A few plays earlier KC running back Pacheko took a swing at Henely, The ref walked over to Daiyan and said "We saw it, just don't retaliate." and he did not. Then, when Kelce got slapped, payback.

    7. Kelce had his left hand under his face mask pushing his face, or pulling his beard! Very common tactic for someone who is being outplayed on the offensive line, they make sure they know where the referee is then try to exacerbate an unsportsmanlike conduct call against the defense by pretending like they are blocking, while they are actually having illegal hands to the face, and hoping for an outraged response that the referee can see! Some of the best offensive blockers in the league routinely use illegal hands to the face, knowing the penalty will more than likely not get caught, since it isn't reviewable on camera!

All you have to do to see it is have the reverse angle played on this play, which oddly they are refusing to do, even though there are at least 12 cameras on the players from every angle!

    8. That was the best play of the night. I'm so tired of the way the Chiefs try to punk the opposing players, then when the other player retaliates be the beneficiary of a penalty is so bush league. Tart is my hero.

    9. The league stays coddling Kelce. I remember last year when they suspended Derwin James for what was essentially a routine tackle against the Steelers. They suspended him for 1 week probably because they were scared Derwin would chokeslam Kelce again like in 2023. Tart not being suspended is probably the NFL's apology to the Chargers.
