See Malcolm-Jamal Warner honored at 2025 Emmys by TV mom Phylicia Rashad

He was a beloved teenager in an iconic television series who the world watched grow into manhood. And like all our friends and colleagues who transitioned this past year, Malcolm Jamal Warner remains in our hearts. Felicia Rashad paid tribute to her TV son Malcolm Jamal Warner at the 2025 Emmys in Memoriam segment. He played Theo Huxible for all eight seasons of the beloved sitcom The Cosby Show. On July 20th, the actor died at the age of 54 after being swept up in a strong current in Costa Rica during a family vacation. A rep for his TV dad, Bill Cosby, previously stated that the tragic death reminded him of his own son’s murder in 1997. The spokesperson shared with the post these powerful words. While I was their TV dad, I never stopped being a father to them. Just two months before his fatal drowning, Malcolm Jamal Warner opened up on Melissa Ford’s Hot and Bothered podcast about his own legacy on the Cosby Show. I remember my mother said to me one time that Mr. Cosby gave you immortality. The Emmys also honored MTV’s father figure Azie Osborne, the late Food Network star Anne Burrell, Buffy actress Michelle Tractenburgg, and Downtown Aby’s Maggie Smith. However, Hulk Hogan was notably omitted from this year’s Inmemoriam segment.
