The collective 'Everyone Hates Elon' revealed a 400 square-metre banner after a massive crowdfunder raised £30,000 to 'ruin Trump's UK visit' this week. He's heading to Windsor Castle where he'll be welcomed by King Charles.

    1. Windsor Castle is simply relieved it’s not a photo of Prince Andrew with a child. So they would like to thank the president for being a more prolific sexual assault perpetrator than the one in their own family. Toodle doos.

    2. I doubt he sees any of this kind of stuff. There will be a team of people working to try and protect him from seeing how deeply unpopular he is.

Not that it’s not worth trying though

I feel like I need to thank these folks for doing this but I’m not sure of the proper etiquette.

I don’t really know if stuff like this does much good. It just feels purely performative.

For one thing, Trump isn’t going to see it. But even if he walked right past it and had to stare directly at it for some reason, he legitimately wouldn’t give a shit. And neither do his supporters.

Not that I’m necessarily blaming the protestors here. The problem is that the only recourse we even have seems to be pointless, performative stuff like this. Those with the power to actually confront Trump directly—politicians, judges, journalists—have repeatedly proven that they have no interest in doing so.
