A new house.gov press release shows the CEO of Reddit (along with the CEOs of Twitch, Discord, and Steam) have been invited to an October 8th committee hearing to examine online radicalization. Noticeably missing are other CEOs of platforms associated with right wing radicalization such as Meta, X, Kick, or Rumble.

well now i’m confused. I was told we were supposed to be against cancel culture and to encourage hearing uncomfortable ideas from the other side? are you telling me Republicans are hypocrites???

    2. kick, rumble, 4chan, twitter, and instagram should also be on this list.

I mean, if they’re serious about it.

    3. It doesn’t matter what they actually find, they will say it’s a breeding ground for the radical Left. Do not trust anything our government puts out and question it vocally every chance you get.

They’ve already deleted their own findings about right wing extremists being responsible for most political violence.

And in the meantime right-wing extremists are still going to organize in peace, not bothered by anyone, just like they were doing for decades…

    5. Sure, focus on the left while the right continues to be/becomes more deranged and homicidal. The danger is coming from inside your party, idiots

eta: But of course it’s not actually about protecting Americans.

Discord is a hotbed for extremism on the left and the right to be fair. O9A and The Com are right wing and recruit on discord. Leftist groups like ACP are over there too

Huh, but they don’t care about the radicalization in right wing spaces, despite that it’s far worse.

I’ve seen a lot of people explicitly saying racist BS (which the right supposedly isn’t according to them) on every major social media and it’s never removed or mentioned as an issue by them.

“Radicalization.” The new weaponized term whose new definition will be whatever goes against fascists, just like “woke.”

    9. Likely a conclusion such as this is drawn:

It was found that those on the left had radical ideas like equal rights for all, that body rights belonged to each person regarding their own bodies, that genocide is bad, that racism is bad, that homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and misogyny are all bad. It was very surprising to learn that the left viewed universal healthcare favorably and advocated for equal, good access to education, and the notion that people should not go bankrupt over medical bills. We learned that they are revolutionaries and surprisingly enough, some/many did not need to be religious to view such liberal ideologies.

Seems like they need more tech CEOs on board with their latest evil plan. We all (should) know, absolutely zero of your data is safe / private on platforms like FB, Insta, X – and likely to only get worse

They’re going to find cesspools of right wing groups agitating for more political violence, but they’ll frame them as being trans leftists

lol im already getting warnings on reddit and tiktok… tiktok has gone downhill since it got taken over by maga.

    13. They are 100% going to shove Hasan Piker at the Twitch guy’s face the whole time, while completely ignoring that basically all of their other commentator top streamers on the platform are right wingers and grifters

    14. Erm, Steam Forums has a prominent gamergate / nazi problem, so good luck to them trying to navigate around that to try and root out leftists there.

Tactics to push even more power and influence to Trump dictatorship.

People are not radicalizating, they are just fighting a dictator.

    16. Any-Difficulty-1247 on

tumblr would’ve been on here if it was 2016, but crazy that fucking steam, twitch, and Reddit are considered ‘leftist’

Can’t believe this Charlie Kirk guy, is the hill that the 1st Amendment is going to die on

6yrs of the shooters Discord chats and no political messages other than pro guns and pro trans rights but sure let’s call him a radical leftist

    19. Same people clutching pearls who pressured Facebook and others to stop fact checking. I notice X is not listed as well.
