Donald Trump revealed his genuine admiration for Prince William during conversations with King Charles. It comes as he becomes the first US President to make a second state visit to the UK.
He will be hosted by the King and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle in Berkshire. Both Mr Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are expected to join a state banquet at Windsor this evening (September 17).
Mr Trump received a military guard of honour and mounted escort upon his Windsor arrival, having spent the previous evening at the US ambassador’s residence in London. The King and Queen, alongside William and Princess Kate, welcomed him upon arrival.
Lip reader Jeremy Freeman revealed that a conversation between Mr Trump and the King exposed his views regarding the 43-year-old William.
Gesturing towards the Prince of Wales, Mr Trump was observed telling the King: “He’s like you, somebody who can open up all the global connections and make things happen and I’ll say he’s a good man and if you want something he’s a good guy.”

The Republican leader then reportedly addressed William directly, whom he previously encountered in France last year, saying: “You look fantastic.”
Mr Trump is understood to be a longstanding supporter of the Royal Family, having previously commended William and Kate. Last December, Mr Trump called the father-of-three a “good-looking guy”.
In a conversation with the New York Post, he remarked: “He looked really, very handsome last night. Some people look better in person. He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that.”
The former US President and Prince William reportedly engaged in a 40-minute discussion at the official reopening of the Notre-Dame cathedral. Their conversation is believed to have centred on the UK/US relationship and various global issues.

Mr Trump concluded the meeting by describing William as a “good man”. His fondness for the Royal Family is thought to have been passed down from his Scottish mother, Mary Trump, who allegedly kept a scrapbook filled with photos of Queen Elizabeth and her sister, Princess Margaret.
Upon arriving at Windsor, Mr Trump is scheduled to pay a visit to the tomb of the late Queen Elizabeth II in St George’s Chapel later today before a Beating Retreat. This military spectacle will feature 200 musicians performing a rendition of Beating Retreat on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle.
Originating from the early years of organised warfare, the ceremony symbolises the end of the day when camp gates were closed and ceremonial flags were lowered. Tonight, the Royal Family will host the Trumps at Windsor Castle for a state banquet.
Both Mr Trump and the King are expected to deliver speeches before the national anthems of the USA and UK are performed. Prior to this, there will be a flypast by the Red Arrows and UK and US F-35 military jets – marking the first time the two have performed together.
