When was the last time a directing category had five women and one man? Now, yeah, I did not bother to look that up, but I think we all agree it was never. All right, the Emmy goes to Philip Barentini. This is the worst.

Elizabeth Banks tried to make a feminist statement at the 2025 Emmy Awards by highlighting that 5 out of 6 nominees for Best Directing were women… but then the ONLY male nominee, Philip Barantini (Netflix’s “Adolescence”), WON! 😅
