Literally Taylor Swift’s M.O. too. Remember when she wrote a “pride anthem” (in which she compared her self-inflicted PR struggles to the historical plight of queer people) in 2019 and bought herself a GLAAD vanguard award for finally acknowledging the existence of gay people four years after the conservative SCOTUS had legalized gay marriage nationwide? Peak Hollywood activism.

I love Beyonces music down, but this video makes excellent points and reminds me that she’s just a rich out of touch person.

Stop spending money on their concert tickets! The prices are outrageous. Not in this economy! Invest in yourselves, not on celebrity brands. They don’t care about you, why are you spending so much money on being a FAN. It’s ridiculous. Times have changed. Celebrities don’t deserve the money and platforms they have. Why do people think that any of them care about the little people.

Maybe I’m just not smart, but if the charity was for being against mass incarceration and for criminal justice reform — does your political affiliation matter? If Trump is for incarceration and doesn’t like Jay-Z or Beyoncé , and his daughter is at their table — isn’t this the biggest fuck you to Trump?!
Also, video states that Beyoncé never used platforms for major issues — but I don’t believe this to be true. I recall posted about : the murder of Black people by police (Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Jake Blake, etc…); Hurricane Harvey relief; voting rights; reproductive rights; support for political candidates (Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Beto O’Rouke, etc…)
Billionaires have the class solidarity the rest of us should aspire to.
