    1. if they don’t apologize to high heavens to him, we all need to continue to boycott all Disney & abc services, including Hulu. this is such a disgusting & weak capitulation to fascism.

r/piracy has a lot of good resources for accessing their content without paying them

Saw on CNN moments ago that Jimmy wanted to do a monologue to address this for yesterday’s show but execs felt if he did, there’d be no coming back regardless of what he said.

    3. They’re going to try to make him take back the plain factual statement he made. I can’t see it going any other way, even if he has great lawyers, surely Disney’s lawyers are more powerful. I wonder if he’ll bend the knee and kiss the ring or tell them to fuck off.

    4. So reading the [Vulture article](https://removepaywalls.com/https://www.vulture.com/article/jimmy-kimmel-abc-disney-bob-iger-decision.html?ueid=c4c53a1d291a76a8121f2aa393366ba9) about the situation, it sounds like it was a stall tactic.

      > But you don’t have to excuse what Disney did Wednesday to accept the possibility that the purpose of its actions were not to punish Kimmel but to get through this crisis with Jimmy Kimmel Live! standing. One veteran Hollywood insider not connected to Disney said the utter blandness of ABC’s Wednesday statement is evidence that the company was winging it and essentially stalling for time. “There was not an ounce of spin in what they said,” this person says. “That means they had nothing to say that could please the government, their employees, the affiliates, or talent. And I don’t blame them. I probably would have done the same.”

    5. He should just take the crew loyal to him and find a place where he can speak out, make a new show.

That must be a challenge. I am sure that there is a part of him that would love to go scortched earth on them for what they’ve done… Except he is essentially the captain of a ship that a lot of other people are passengers on. It’s not just his own livelihood that he has to consider – it’s all of theirs too.

    7. Just wanted to say, if he does end up apologizing (which I hope he does not) it will be for the people at the show who needs the paycheck. He has a lot of people depending on him. I cannot believe he has been put in this position! Fuck!

Also, October 18th is the next No Kings protest!

    8. I’m genuinely confused and hoping someone can answer for me: why do you think it is that Jimmy was pulled from the air over this particular comment? I watch his show from time to time and he makes fun of trump (all justified) a LOT. Why was this what crossed the line?

    9. I guess Disney got hit with all those Disney+ cancellations overnight and was shocked.

    10. I know it’s a pipe dream, but I would just love love love for ABC/Disney employees to go on strike over something like this.

    11. I hope he doesn’t “donate” to Turning Point nor the Kirks. I canceled my subscriptions today, I hope they feel the heat 🥵.
