I bawled my eyes out, with that bittersweet joy, the first time I saw him following in his father’s footsteps.
I hadn’t seen the video of Steve when he has his “danglin the baby near the croc” controversy until much later after it happened.
As a mom, I imagine Terri smacked the crap outta Steve after it happened. He was a brand new lil buddy!
As an internet shit-head, I also laughed when the baby kinda [bounced](https://youtu.be/M5lIXAovhp0?t=88) over to the croc.

I loved (and still love) Steve Irwin so much. I wish the best for his family, who continue to advocate for the precious animals on this planet. You don’t have to like all animals and think they’re fuzzy and cute, but you do owe them respect.
