Miley Cyrus is healing her connection with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. On Friday, the music superstar released a new song, Secrets, and an accompanying music video. In the Instagram announcement for the new track, Miley shared the meaning behind the ballad, writing, quote, “This song was written as a peace offering for someone I had lost for a time, but I always loved. In my experience, forgiveness and freedom are one and the same.” She concluded the caption with a dedication, “This song is for my dad.” Reports of arangement between the 32-year-old singer and Billy Ray have lingered for the past couple of years. In June 2024, Miley dodged a question from David Letterman on his Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, when he asked if she’s ever considered her dad to be her quote hero. I hear a lot of people say in interviews this that and the other, um, my father is my hero. Well, that ain’t going to happen at my house. Uhhuh. Uh, did you ever feel that way about your father? I mean honestly my mom is my hero and uh my father I am grateful for first his jeans. My dad has great hair and I got that.
