Meghan Markle & Prince Harry SURPRISE Benefit Concertgoers

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry never miss an opportunity to support one another. On Saturday, September 20th, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the 1805 Live concert, an annual event that raises funds for Santa Barbara County first responders. The event, which began in 2018 after the Thomas Fire, is held at actor Kevin Cosner’s Oceanside Estate. Kevin also serves as a board member. Megan joined Harry on stage briefly to greet the crowd and then stood to the side as he presented an award to Santa Barbara County Fire Chief Mark Hartwig. The concert featured performances by Trisha Yearwood, Good Charlotte, and The Frey, among others. Saturday’s surprise outing marks Prince Harry’s first public appearance since his recent reunion with his father, King Charles, in the UK. Prior to September 10th, the father and son hadn’t seen each other in person in more than a year. In an interview with the Guardian after the meeting, the Duke of Sussex shared some of his hopes for the future. He expressed wanting to bring his children, 6-year-old Prince Archie and 4-year-old Princess Lily to the UK one day, saying, quote, “This week has definitely brought that closer.” Prince Harry also told the publication that his focus will need to be on his dad in the year ahead. In February 2024, the 76-year-old monarch revealed that he’s being treated for cancer. The Guardian also reports that Prince Harry referenced a bit of advice from his wife Meghan Markle as he returned to the complicated matters in the UK. She told him that telling the truth is quote the most efficient way to live. The Duke added, she said, “Just stick to the truth. It is the thing I always fall back on. Always. And if you think like that, who would be stupid enough to lie? It takes up too much time and effort. [Music]

Saturday’s outing marks the first time Prince Harry has been spotted in public since reconnecting with his father King Charles in the UK earlier this month. Prior to Sept. 10, the father and son hadn’t seen each other in person in more than a year.
