Lisa Barlow unpacks ‘RHOSLC’ drama and shuts down plastic surgery speculation with Virtual Reali-Tea
Even in the premiere episode, she’s like, “Lisa likes to use the word liar.” And I’m like, “If you lie, I will call you a liar.” Like, that’s it’s not that complicated. If you say, “My husband’s getting off while I’m making out with girls, I’m going to say you’re a liar.” Virtual reality. Lisa Barlo, Danny and I are so excited to be reunited and it’s it’s Salt Lake City season once again. So good. our favorite girl to sing with, gossip with, chat with, and watch on TV, which is why I was so upset with the premiere because I didn’t get to watch you on TV. I know. That was so crazy. We got a little FaceTime moment. Little FaceTime. Yeah. Yeah. Spoiler alert, Lisa Barlo’s not really in the premiere episode, but you’re talked about quite I mean like I was there. Yeah. You were driving conversation. I mean, like, let’s get into it. The Bronwin of it all. She’s bringing up these lawsuits. What do you have to say to that? Do you want to clear up anything before fans get into the I think it’s um she acted like we have five lawsuits right now. Yes, we’ve been sued. Yes, we’ve been in business for a very long time. We’re we own multiple businesses. That’s just part of doing business. I’m not afraid of it. I never thought to be like, “Oh my gosh, guess what, guys? I’m being sued. If they asked me about anything, I would say it, but it’s not a big deal. They’re all dismissed. There’s one that’s pending that we think is going to go that way because yeah, I don’t want to say too much, but it’s lack of evidentiary support. You seem unbothered. I am unbothered because it was like it’s just the cost of doing business. We have a lot of lawyers on retainer. Um there’s a big difference between a civil lawsuit which you can like allege anything um sometimes truthful things, sometimes not truthful things and that’s why we have good lawyers on retainer and like and you have them work for you. Like I’m not nervous about it. I was really funny to me. I was like wait what? This is like your boom. This is like your big what? And that’s why weird cuz Meredith was like sometimes the cost of doing business is just random lawsuits and like owing money like you know what I mean? Yeah. And we and you know what like the way we run our business like we cross our tees we dot our eyes like we’re federally regulated on Vita. We also own other businesses too. And it’s funny to me it was like really shocking that I’m like this is what you’re talking about when I sold a business two years ago. Nobody said anything. They weren’t like oh my gosh Lisa’s such a baddie. She sold a business. you know, and it it’s like what do we celebrate and what don’t we? Because I know I’ve never talked about their businesses. I don’t talk about their marriages. I support them. I’ve bought everybody’s goods, gift certificates for Beauty Lab, which I was grateful Heather had my back, too. Um, jewelry from Whitney, skincare from Whitney. So, I’ve been really supportive of all of their businesses. So, it was shocking that they felt like it was going to be like this mic drop boom thing to talk about mine. I I will probably get sued again. I don’t It doesn’t scare me. It doesn’t bother me. Things happen. It’s business. It’s the course of business. What was your reaction when Whitney explained on the season premiere that her business failed? Like she was very candid about that. Um, you know, you don’t want to see anybody’s business fail. Like I’ve I feel like I’ve been really supportive of Whitney and like her business journey. I also am like, “So, you’re taking this opportunity to bash mine and and to talk about how I am different than you? I don’t confide in her because I don’t trust her opinion, you know? I mean, that’s like the truth. I don’t. And And so like I just feel like um she you know she made up a lot of stuff last year about me talking about her business and what got out there in the press when I think it was it’s a lot of diversion from what’s actually happening. Yeah. And I do it is funny too. All the ladies were like and I would say this to Lisa’s face if she was here. Do they have that? Do they have a or do like do you hear it from them or they have to do it in a group like you’ll see you’ll see as the season progresses like their safety and numbers like I can take on five of them if I need to and you know I’ve taken on four of them and it’s fine you know like I don’t have a problem with it but yeah they can take they can say it to my face when they have numbers when they feel like they’re aligned in doing that. Are they coming just for your business or are they sort of coming for any other aspect? I mean, you know, it was really disappointing. I hate even just saying it like, oh, it’s disappointing. It was like bull that like my marriage got talked about last year and Merida’s marriage got talked about when we were in Mexico. I thought that was really gross. I’ve defended all of their marriages. I don’t talk about their marriages, you know, and I think that it was like really gross and hurtful that they do that with my business every year. My business, my marriage, my kids get brought up um which I don’t like. I don’t bring up their kids in a negative way in any capacity. So, you know, it’s like it was weird. It’s also kind of funny. You’d think after like a few years of them trying and failing to take you down that they would try to do something else. I mean, I just think that Bronnin was really upset that um she lied about me last year about multiple things. And the the one thing I had definite proof of is I introduced her to a jeweler. She was borrowing jewelry and saying she bought it. And I never I didn’t even know who the jeweler was until probably 4 days before the reunion that it was like my friend that I introduced her to. And I think she was so embarrassed that she got caught lying that she wanted to make me look bad. It was complete retaliation. And I’m like, but you’re not retaliating on the same level. Like you flat out lied about buying jewelry, a necklace, earrings, a ring to Andy’s face, my face. She went on bofiles and said the same thing. It was measuring contest. And so it’s like, you know, you got busted and instead of just saying like, you know what, I lied. I don’t even know why I lied. She was like, I’m gonna make Lisa look bad, but you don’t make someone look bad for con like just practicing business and doing deals. And do you feel because you said that she lied a lot about you and then the jewelry thing, are there is that kind of like her through line? Does she lie a lot about her life? I just think that there’s a lot of things that aren’t true that’s said and I think um you know just the way people handle situations is different from me to her. I just think we handle things differently. I think that she was totally retaliating against me but I’m like oh my gosh this is a dumb retaliation. It’s like oh well I got sued. It’s public knowledge. Like I’m not embarrassed by it. You know we have a good legal team. They handle things the way they need to handle things and I’m good. I’m fine. But to make it seem like I’m in five lawsuits right now is gross. Like I that’s like we’ve been in business for almost 20 years. That’s, you know, keep digging. You won’t find anything else. Are is there hope that you and Bronnwood could ever get to a place of friendship? I’m fine with the place we’re in. I’m completely comfortable with the place we’re in. You know, you get to a certain stage in life and you’re comfortable with like, you know, people that you understand and know and you can trust. And I feel like I’m comfortable in the place we’re in. And I feel like I mean the feud that you two have that seems to get very heated this season. This is a very educational feud cuz I think you’re teaching America about gout. She learned not to cross Lisa because you get you get your WebMD out. You know, there’s been so many things that she said over the years and it was like safety and numbers. I you’ll see it’s coming, you know, like soon, you know, in the next few episodes. You’ll see like which transpires. But I like literally had u multiple people coming at me and I was like, “This is a lie. This is a lie. This is why I call you a liar.” You know, even in the even in the premiere episode, she’s like, “Lisa likes to use the word liar.” And I’m like, “If you lie, I will call you a liar.” Like that’s it’s not that complicated. If you say my husband’s getting off while I’m making out with girls, I’m going to say, “You’re a liar. You are lying.” And that’s a lie. If you say you bought jewelry you didn’t buy, you are a liar. And I’m going to call you a liar. I don’t know why it’s that complicated. I call you liars when you’re lying. You also had a good impression. Yeah. I was like, wait, that sounded so much like her. That was crazy. But also, you have such a way with words. I mean, gout, how did that even come to you? I don’t know. Like it was almost like Yeah. Yeah. It was almost like divine inspiration. Like who thinks to say that? And then we were actually chatting with Meredith earlier because we were like, “Did you what did you think of that?” She was like, “I didn’t know that was a real thing.” And she was chatting with a producer who was like, “Yeah, it’s a real thing.” And then she unfortunately Google image Google. Yeah. And then and then Danny did and then he saw what that looks like. So Oh, no. Terrifying. You’re educating the masses, Lisa. Terrifying. You know, I don’t normally talk like cra I’m not a crass person. I wasn’t raised that way. I have like a very sophisticated mother and father and I was raised where we don’t say potty words and so that was like probably the most potty thing I’ve ever said. I do say the f word a lot though too but like just the right. Yeah. Sometimes you got to flush. Yeah. Um but it was you know there’s so much that happens over this season. It’s a very different season. It feels really different but it’s intense. A lot of it’s really intense because also we see for some things to come that you and Heather are reflecting. I was disappointed by that. Yeah. How did that happen? Cuz you all have been good and she defended you pretty hard in the premiere. No, I was literally like that’s the first time I’ve had anyone defend me in six years. And I was like watching it and I was like, “Oh my gosh, those are my friends and this is amazing.” And I don’t know where things change, but they definitely change. And it’s different and it’s hurtful. Is it changing because is she getting closer to people that do are not team Lisa or is she just kind of or you guys just somehow like got I thought I thought Heather and I were like great, you know, and I was surprised by a few things that you’ll see and maybe we’ll surprise you too. Well, I was also surprised because when we were talking to Meredith, we were we were talking about Whitney one and two and I am still so confused how we’re going to get to a place where Whitney and Britney are a link up because they seem to not like each other. Are you sure that’s who she’s talking about? I think I think so. I was confused. Yeah. She was like the other is the one that also rhymes with and I was like oh Britney. I didn’t even think to that Britney would be in that category but you’re still good with Britney or is there another? I think Britney I think I think that you’ll see that dynamics change up a lot this season very organically and some contrived and yeah so cuz she was saying that she thinks someone was in Mary’s ear about her last year and that it wasn’t Angie. So I was like is that could that be Whitney trying to I think you’re going to see and I think we’re going to find out. I think you guys have some really good theories. Okay. I love that. I I’m not sad about the theories. I’m off. How are you and Mary? because you guys have had ups and downs. Now she’s back to being friends with Meredith. They’re in a good place. Meredith and Mary Meredith has always been a great friend to Mary and I think Mary’s always appreciated that. Mary and I have always been good. I think what um Mary and I can be so direct with each other. We’ve both heard each other’s feelings. Um we’ve talked through everything. I don’t think there’s Mary doesn’t want to go backwards. I’m not going backwards. And I think that when you look at just some things that have been said and done, like Mary, when Mary says, “I’m sorry to me,” I genuinely believe her. I don’t ever go backwards. I don’t think there’s a point to go backwards. She’s extremely sincere in her thoughts, you know, and sometimes Mary verbalizes her thoughts while she’s working them out, which I do, too. So, I get that. But I think um Mary and I have like a definite respect for each other because we can go through hard things and talk through it. Like we’ve had very direct conversations and like very vulnerable ones too and good ones. And like I’m always rooting for Mary. Like I think Mary is really funny. Yes. And she’s been a really good friend. Yeah. Oh, that’s good. Well, you’re also being vulnerable this season by opening up about your marriage. Apparently, you go to a psychic who’s very insightful. Psychic came to us. The psychic came to y’all. You’re like, I want to scare. So tell tell us about that journey and how the psychic sort of I guess revealed some some cracks in the marriage. Well, I think that the psychic hit something that like I think when you’re married for a long time Oh gosh. Like I don’t want to get emotional. It’s okay. It’s okay. Mar it’s it’s an emotional thing. He’s your person. Yes. John Marlo is my person. But I think like for me it just like hit me like oh my gosh, what if we’re not on the same page, you know? But all sorts of things too. You guys always see Well, you I think Oh my gosh. Don’t bring up. But you guys are so go go go go and you always I think that it was hard because when like I remember we went on a yacht trip in 2017 and I remember thinking like I’m trying to make myself not like think about it because like my life my the most important part of my life is my family. Like if you don’t have your family, you don’t really have anything. And I’m from a big family and I was raised where family is everything. And so I think like when we went on this trip in 2017, it was the first time we like left the kids 100%. And I was like, “Oh my gosh, what if we don’t have anything to talk about and we did and we like had the best time.” And we’re like, “Where do we have kids? Like where are we going? When are we going back? We’ve been gone for three weeks and it’s been like, you know, like the most amazing time.” And I think when the psychic said that, I was also he was also talking about my friendships and how people treat me. And I think that coupled with, you know, we’ve been married for a very long time and people grow. You hope they grow and like you want to make sure you’re growing together and not apart and you have to take that very seriously. John is a very type A personality. I think people think I’m that. He is. Um he speaks in sarcasm. He’s really really funny. And like I think that there was a part of me that was sad because when the psychic said that like I’m like, “Oh my gosh, this is crazy. You’re talking about John.” He brought up other very specific things and I was like, “Oh my gosh, how do you even know this?” like it’s like not something John and I would talk about like and so I thought that that hit pretty hard and then what he said about my friendships too like was pretty spoton and I think that coupled with each other was like super emotional but marriage is like a big deal like um you know you commit to a person my parents were married 38 years before they got divorced and you know like there’s a lot of divorce in my family on my mom’s side there’s no one that’s married like and all of my sisters are divorced And I think like when you see that happening around you, it’s like something you know like, hey, I’m it’s worth working really hard at my marriage and you know, and John’s my person like did you and John do anything to reconnect or rebuild after that meeting with the psychic? I mean, we’re complicated, but but I think no, it was like John’s like, I you’ll see you’ll see this season like you know where we’re at. But we have, you know, one of our kids is leaving home like he left home for two years and he’s making big boy decisions like with Jack and like his future and what that looks like and how involved we are. I think it’s really challenging when you put so much love and energy and focus into your family and certain aspects of your family based on who has needs and then that changes. I think it throws you off a little bit. I think it throws you off your game. I remember when I was in college, I worked at a boutique and this lady I was like asking her question. She was so beautiful buying like gorgeous clothes and and she was like um I’m like, “Are you still in love with your husband? You seem so happy.” and she’s like, I respect him. And that’s more important than like love. And I think to have both is a big deal. I also love like the life lessons at a boutique. That’s magical. That’s healing. Life lessons. And I got so many from my mom’s girlfriends where they’d be like, “Never love your husband more than he loves you.” Like blah blah blah. But I think like um you know having like knowing like how important marriage is for me it’s you know it was like hard to have someone point out something that you’re priority feeling. That makes sense. And how happy were you to skip an RV to hang out with Ben Affleck and Blake Lively? No, I can’t tell you how happy I was. Like I mean, I’m sad that I’m not around and like I didn’t get to defend myself in person, but I love what I do for work and I think a lot of people don’t even know how many things I have pots I have my hands in and and that’s one that I feel like makes me feel like me and accomplishing like in like accomplishing with like connections and building and helping other people with like experential activations. Like for me that’s a big deal. So I needed that for me more than an RV trip. And I feel too Blake would have loved you’re like Blake there’s a whole table talking about my lawsuits. Girl, we’re you’re not alone. I’m with you girl. We’re both dealing with it. I had no idea they were even talking about it. So when I was there I was having the best time with amazing people and smart people and like talking about things that like inspire me. And so for me it was like such a difference. Like I was on a high and like when I when it came to my attention that like the girls were talking about me in a negative way and all I kept thinking is like wait why aren’t they talking about all the great things I do and all my wins or like where I was and why I was there because it wasn’t a secret. That’s cool. Yeah, it was so cool. And I do so many interesting cool things. We have a new lounge in Park City and like I love to celebrate like other people’s win. So, it was weird to me that, you know, I I mean, it’s obvious where it was. It was like um you know, a deterrence from where they were. Yeah. Wait, really quickly, because you are the queen of Sundance, what do you think of it moving to Colorado? Are you bummed or are you going to be going to Colorado? You know, I’m friends with Amy Redford, Robert’s daughter, and I think we all have like like it’s a part of us. So, like I started going up for to Sundance when I was in college and had like the most incane amazing experiences. And then we launched our brand Vita at Sundance 2007. We started the brand in 2004, launched there at 2007, closed a big deal while John Legend was performing up there. I did so many iconic film premieres and studio events and network events. Like it’s literally like a big part of me. Like you grow up with Sundance. So many great bis business relationships have come from Sundance. like owning brands with people that I own brands with started at Sundance. So, I think that it’s like bittersweet. It’s like heartbreaking a lot. It’s like a big part of Park City and the community. Like we own our lounge premiere because of Premiere Sundance Film Festival premiering Premier Vita Tequila Lounge and doing deals in the same space for so many years and then it’s like now we’re a partner in this and we own this and it’s like you know like it’s bittersweet for me because I’ve grown up with it. Yeah. Like and it like very cool cool things have happened. Friendships like everlasting friendships. So yeah, with clients and cool people. So I’m sad. I’m actually really sad. I think Boulder’s very lucky. Yeah. That they get this. And they’re going to be lucky, too, cuz I feel Lisa Barl’s gonna be partying in Boulder then. I will be in Boulder. Barlo and Boulder. It’s going to be Yeah, we were talking about that on a call last Friday. And I think it’s going to be um amazing to do that. But I’m grateful for the institute and how supportive they’ve been of me and how I could be supportive of them. And it’s amazing to see all the stages of the fin film festival and the institute. I mean, it’s it’s like there’s so many memories, you know, and it could always come back. Yeah. You know, I mean, you never know. Park City, you need to pony up some more cash. Some more money on the table. Well, we hope you come back here all the time because, you know, we love you. I love you guys, too. You guys got me emotional. I know. We’re sorry. We’re sorry. John Barlo, my kids, and God will make me cry every time. And my confessionals are always like, “Oh, we know she’s going to cry.” You brought up one of these three things. That’s cuz you love. Yeah. I love And I love being married and I love my husband and my family very much. And we have the photo of you all. So cute. I know. I’m married to a good one. You are. We love John. We love John. I do. He’s so cute. He’s so cute. He looks way better with a shirt off, too. I know. He Wait, with his shirt off and a backwards baseball cap, he’s like, there’s no one competing. What? Where were y’all wearing? Henry’s like, I look like dad. Do you think I’ll look like him when I grow up? Yes. So sweet. Okay. He has a lot of when they were in the Airbnb and she coach before 17C when he was shirtless with the backwards baseball hat. So cute. Changed me. Yeah. And he looks better in person. He’s ripped. He’s benching heavier than he ever did. Even in his 20s when we met. He is benching so heavy. He looks so good. He’s benching. You’re threading. The bars are amazing. I mean, do not ever knock threads. They are like the best. Not that you were, but they are the best thing that you can do for yourself. I don’t like filler. I don’t like to put Botox in my face. My mom is like, “Why would you put bachulolism by your brain?” So, like limited Botox, but threads are a way to get a natural lift, boost, and lift um without girls drag it. Is that what you’re saying? Do they I mean, they just are always talking about my face, my business, my family, my kids. So, they can’t stop talking about you. But they accuse you of having a facelift. And I love how you were like, “No, girl. I actually have six on each side of my face and 12 in my neck.” And do they stay in? Like is it like honey? They are permanent. Yes. But they like they they they dissolve. They build collagen under your skin. Kim uh Khloe Kardashian just talked about getting her neck threaded. I started um like probably eight years ago, nine years ago doing threads and sometimes I don’t have time to do them and I only go to one specific person to get them done because she does the best job ever. But you can tight lift it like sculpt and leave in the same day. you can get like a beautiful eyebrow lift. You can do so much and I think it’s like worth the money. Like it’s, you know, like 3500 and you leave and you’re like, I look amazing. A lot cheaper than a facelift. Yes. But, you know, and there’s nothing wrong with getting a facelift, too. Like, we’re all aging. I’m not anti that at all. I think it’s better than filling your face full of fillers. But, for me, threads, and you can tell in confessionals when I have threads and when I don’t. And I’ve, you know, last year I was at a fanfest in Miami and we stayed out till 6:30 in the morning. I had the best time. I was singing, I was DJing, I was doing all the things with amazing people that I’m blessed to work with. And you know, I got on the carpet and there was some bad lighting. And people like to talk about my face, but I’m like, I’m pretty. I have naturally pretty features. I’m blessed. Thank you, Jesus, and God, and my mom and dad and everybody. But I’m like, you can do things to enhance that and you shouldn’t be shamed for that, you know, and whatever you choose to do is fine. But I like to be natural, too. Like you guys have seen me with absolutely nothing. No threads, nothing. And I feel comfortable both ways. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with aging naturally and being pretty as an older woman. Like, you know, like I still think I’m young, but like you I was say I’ve never seen you not look stuck. It’s funny how people feel comfortable bashing a woman’s face, though. I I think in 2025 it’s really weird. Very weird. Yeah. Very odd. I don’t know. I’m like, why are you talking about a woman’s face or a man’s face? I don’t know. Cuz I know people are saying Brad P got a facelift. And I’m like, no, that’s all natural for sure. Yeah, he does look Lisa Marlo. Lisa Parlo detective. Yes. I don’t think he had one. I think he just is doing great things for his skin. And I had a CO2 laser, too. I was almost not going to do it because Right. Because didn’t Molly Sims Molly Sims and she was right about your barrier. It does. you do lose your barrier, but your barrier comes back. It just takes about 25 to 30 days. So, like my skin looks so good because I don’t have a lot of time. I work a lot to invest in myself and I decided like, hey, I’m going to get a CO2 laser. It was like a very I like how fat my face is still. So, like I have fat pads under my eyes that I didn’t want going away. So, I was very careful with who I chose to do my CO2 laser treatment. I think that’s a huge deal. But my skin, I feel like the resurfacing was so good. And like I love Thank you. I love to take good care of myself, but I’m also a busy mom, working wife, and like we have a lot going on. So you’re doing it all. When I can, I do it. Yeah. But when she said that, I was like, that’s so demeaning. And like, you know, it comes up throughout the whole entire season and I’m just like, I like my face and I’m pretty. Stop talking about it. I Wait, that’s not going to end any argument I have. I like my face and I’m pretty. Yes. Goodbye. Oh my god. And you my job, we love you. Thank you so much for you guys so much. It’s so good to see you. I feel like we need to sing our way out. Oh my goodness. That was hard. X on the line. Justice. I haven’t warmed up yet. No one really gets over me. I’m unaffected. Why would you try? That’s my favorite part. We should all be singing this. Why would you try to put me second? You know, you’re just a groupy to me. Now here single. You guys are both still single. I am married and I’m not. Yeah. I knew you were married. How married are you? Just kidding. I’m kidding. I’m kidding. I’m kidding. Hot commodities right here.
