Why Matthew McConaughey Changed His Mind About Letting Son Levi Act | E! News
Matthew McConna is quite all right with his son Levi following in his acting footsteps despite previous reservations. The actor who stars alongside his son as well as his mom Mary Kathleen McCabe in the film The Lost Bus explains why he became open to sharing the spotlight with his 17-year-old. Telling People magazine in an interview published September 24th, “The first 15 years in Hollywood, I was like, I never want my kid to grow up in this business. And when I hit about 40, right about the time we had a Levi, I looked around at how many special people I’ve met in my life, how much travel, and what an awesome, healthy, cool experience that’s been for me in my life. And at that point, Matthew, who also shares kids Vita and Livingston with Camila in addition to Levi, couldn’t imagine keeping them away from such opportunities, recalling, I was like, where are you coming up with this idea? You don’t want any of your kids to do it. It’d be a privilege if they would be able to. Meanwhile, Levi, who makes his acting debut alongside his dad in the thriller, doesn’t feel as set up for success even with being the son of an Oscar winner, explaining, “As much as people can say, oh, you got this because of your father or your mother, they can open the door, but then it’s going to be up to me to do my thing once I get in there. Matthew should be Levi’s perfect guardian to protect him from hidden dangers. The truth is right there. Levi should learn more in a safe quality way. Many child stars without their guardians have went to their dark paths to be wicked because they were endangered by the abusers, offenders, and groomers a long time ago. Levi deserves to be safe with his family including Matthew as along as they make the communities scott free and toxicity free. I hope Levi and his siblings break the mold. Ain’t no way, ain’t no nepotism, ain’t no problems.
