Meghan McCain blasts ‘nepo baby’ Violet Affleck’s ‘patently absurd’ call for mask mandate
It is neglect of the highest order to look children in the eyes and say, “We knew how to protect you and we didn’t do it.” We have access to a technology to prevent airborne disease, something that millions of our ancestors and millions of people around the world today would kill for. And we refuse to use it. And I shudder to think of where we will be in another 5 years of unmitigated infection and reinfection. Megan McCain slammed Nepo baby Violet Affleck’s call for mask mandates after her impassion speech at the United Nations, calling it patently absurd. In a post on X, McCain wrote, “Every single thing about all of this is why people hate Nepo babies so much.” McCain had written this alongside a repost of the teen speech, referring to the fact that the activist is the eldest child of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Gardner. Despite quickly deleting her initial post, the conservative political commentator doubled down on her criticism with several posts on X. In a separate lengthy post, she acknowledged that she is a Nepo baby herself, writing, “First, it takes one to know one. Say whatever you want about me. My parents would have never been okay with me speaking in front of the United Nations at 19 about a health issue I had no background, training, or experience in.” McCain also insisted that quote anyone advocating that I mask my kids all day in 2025 I think is insane and that is my right. Violet is often photographed wearing a face covering while out with her parents. While Megan on her part has been outspoken against CO 19 restrictions. She called wearing masks stupid in a July 2021 episode of The View and that May shamed Americans who still choose to wear masks.

Violet, 19, urged for post-COVID mask mandates while wearing one of her own on Tuesday and was met with criticism from McCain the following day in a since-deleted post on X.
“Every single thing about all of this is why people hate nepo babies so much,” McCain, 40, wrote alongside a repost of the teen’s speech, referring to the fact that the activist is the eldest child of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.
