Princess Kate cheers on England to victory in Women’s Rugby World Cup final
Princess Kate shared her thoughts on England’s Red Roses as they stormed to victory in the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup.
She showed her support for England’s Red Roses as they clinched the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup title on Saturday, September 27.
The Princess of Wales marked the occasion with a message on Instagram ahead of the final at London’s Allianz Stadium, writing, “Good luck England! Wishing the very best of luck to the @redrosesrugby in their Women’s Rugby World Cup Final at Twickenham today. We’re so proud of you! C.”
Kate, who is patron of the Rugby Football Union, also shared a throwback photo of herself smiling in a red hat alongside team members.
According to People, England went on to defeat Canada 47–7 in a commanding performance.
Following the win, the royal joined the team in their locker room to personally congratulate the players.
“What an amazing game, well done everybody,” she said in a video posted by the Red Roses on X. “It was a bit nerve-wracking, I’m not going to lie, to start off… but no, incredible. You did brilliantly.”
As per the outlet, Kate’s latest rugby outing came amid her ongoing friendly rivalry with Prince William, who serves as patron of the Welsh Rugby Union and attended Wales’ Pool B match earlier in the tournament.
Furthermore, the royal couple have long embraced their sporting roles, with Kate assuming her rugby patronages in 2022, following Prince Harry’s departure from official duties.
