This is dystopian considering actual actresses are struggling to find jobs. Also it’s giving they used known actresses faces to make this AI composite!

    3. I can’t even imagine all the legalese in the contract that would be required for the repping party to not get fucked over in the future

I can’t explain why this feels like when people were scrambling for NFTs but it does.

I think it’s super telling that the first AI “actor” is female coded. Of course women are the first to be replaced.

    5. Every time I see anything AI-related I get so angry, I just know that if this shit ever gets normalised in the future I’ll be one of the anti-AI “bigots” still stuck in my human ways.

    6. This is so dystopian.

To whom does the money go to when the “actress” is not a real person? Who is “Tilly”??

The only way studios/media move away from this is if we DON’T watch it, DON’T pay for it, DON’T support it in any way.

    8. Super embarrassing for the talent agencies vying for this honestly.

You want to sign someone that’s not real? Executives and CEOs get way too much credit for doing jack shit.

    9. what the FUCK.

i honestly would not blame actors if they went on strike again, same with writers, special effects workers, etc.

I’m completely okay with AI generated movies – and personally believe it is nonsense to block the inevitable reality of AI art.

(There is room for discussion about how AI manifests art – and not just blatantly copying people)

However, agencies should represent actors – it is a huge conflict of interest for Agencies to offer AI.

What the fuck does an AI actress even mean? GenAI is just a mashup of existing assets, how could it be considered a signable entity? Also doesn’t copyright law state that anything AI-generated can’t be copywritten, so what would be the point of signing “her”?

My god can things just stop be unyieldingly stupid for one fucking second

    12. I said to my husband recently that in five, ten years tops, seeing movies with human actors will be an artisnal experience. This is going to be the norm, and soon.
Anyone see Sim0ne, by the way?

    13. gotta wonder why all these studios are so eager for a facsimile of an incredibly young looking conventionally attractive woman with no boundaries

      > In a comment on the story on Instagram, Matilda star Mara Wilson asked: “And what about the hundreds of living young women whose faces were composited together to make her? You couldn’t hire any of them?”

      # SPEAK ON IT, MARA!

      💅 I lysm my queen ❤️😭😭❤️

    15. Whatever. I’m just going to keep watching my fave comfort movies and shows from the early 2000s and the decades before it.

They can keep their new shit material with their shit AI actors/actresses. REFUSE to watch.
