How Mariah Carey Feels About Her Daughter Following in Her Footsteps | E! News

My daughter’s into music. Mariah Care’s daughter might be getting ready to step into the spotlight. The diva is sharing her thoughts on if 14-year-old daughter Monroe is interested in following in mom’s famous footsteps during a September 29th appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Kind of like, well, my daughter’s into music and she likes music. She She used to sing with me on my Christmas tour, but I don’t know if she’s doing it this year. Oh, really? Yeah. Maybe her own thing. Maybe I’m trying to get her to do her own thing. I think she wants to, so possibly. Yeah. Okay, good. All right. Yay. Fame would be a natural next step for the hitmakers twins, Monroe and Moroccan, who not only call Mariah mom, but whose dad is comedian and host Nick Cannon. The fantasy singer told People magazine last year of her kids getting into showbiz, “I think they’re both very talented and smart, and if they want to pursue having a life as an entertainer, then I think they should.” adding, “It’s a hard kind of life, but they seem to really love performing, so I’m happy for them.” The twins have made social media cameos and onstage appearances with Mom through the years, including at her 2024 Christmas show in LA. Meanwhile, Mom proving that her career is showing no signs of slowing down, fresh off the release of her 16th studio album.
