Pedro Pascal seen leaving the gym in LA. Wearing a shirt with a quote by Palestinian Doctor, Mahmoud Abu Nujaila, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in 2023: “Whoever stays until the end will tell the story. We did what we could. Remember us”.

Mahmoud Abu Nujaila was a Palestinian human rights defender, medical doctor, and humanitarian healthcare worker with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). During the 2023 Israeli hostilities in Gaza, he was on the front lines, treating the wounded and injured, risking his life in an extremely hostile situation.

Tragically, on 21 November 2023, Mahmoud Abu Nujaila was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al Awda Hospital, along with two other doctors and human rights defenders. He was in the facility treating patients when the third and fourth floors were targeted; the hospital was one of the last remaining partly functional hospitals in northern Gaza.

At the end of October 2023, Mahmoud Abu Nujaila wrote on a whiteboard, normally used for planning surgeries, the following: “Whoever stays until the end will tell the story. We did what we could. Remember us.”

      I’ll say my usual.

      This is a Genocide. Period.

We are talking about the systematic starvation and killing of women and children.

We are talking about atrocities that are hard to fathom involving not just murder but sexual violence and children losing their sight, hearing, limbs, and being paralyzed amongst other horrific realities.

This isn’t a purity test. This is a test of basic decency, empathy, and humanity.

If those in power can’t stand up with courage against this nightmare they won’t stand up for the Labour Movement, Environmentalist Movement, Women’s Rights/LGBTQ+ Rights/General Civil Rights Movement, Peace Movement, Alter-Globalization Movement, and other grassroots progressive/leftists causes for a better and brighter world.

This Genocide has demonstrated the gross apathy and platitude fluff of our system and those in power.

It has also highlighted how heroic our activists are who face repression, stigmatization, and even criminalization for keeping the spotlight and pressure on this. The same as historically happened with those aforementioned grassroots causes.

Shame. Shame on so many for this.

We all need it’s an era of fighting back against powerful and very very predatory interests or else we get pummeled. No one is coming to save us. The working class and the most vulnerable need to have each others backs.
