Taylor and Travis’ ‘Gilded Age’ wedding? Exclusive details revealed

It’s been just a little over a week since Taylor and Travis broke the internet with their engagement news. And now, of course, everyone wants to know when’s the wedding. With more is Mara Seagler. What’s going on? What’s the update with the our wedding planning? There have been some reports out that they’re in no rush, that they’re not worrying about it, that they’re going to enjoy this phase. Um, however, my insider is telling me like most it’s going to be a year. It’s going to be in Rhode Island where she has her home in Watch Hill. Not Ohio, not Pennsylvania. No, not Nashville. Um, but Rhode Island next summer and that she’s actually like wants to move things along. She’s 35. She’ll be 36 next year. And I’m told that she wants the family. Interesting. And are there reports that that she’s looking to have the wedding on the property in the $17 million mansion? No. So, it’s unclear if she’ll have it at her place, but we did have another report that said that they want to keep it very private and, you know, have a smaller ceremony. So, it would make sense. Right now, her um Rhode Island mansion is actually under renovation. She’s adding I mean, it’s already enormous, but she’s adding I think it has 10 bathrooms right now and something like eight bedrooms, but she’s adding another massive bedroom and more bathrooms cuz you can’t have enough of those. And also, um they’re renovating the kitchen. So, by next year though, this should all be like updated and new, and she could probably fit however many friends and family she wants in there. And hopefully no porter potties at the Taylor Swift wedding, you know, never. I mean, they’d have the very nice ones, but um you know, it would be a great thing uh for I think you know, sometimes with some of these weddings like you know, Bezos, there were the big protests, nobody wanted him there. With some of these things, people don’t like it because it attracts so much attention. Not the case for the Ocean State. Um, well, the Rhode Island governor, Dan McGee, had tweeted, “Rhode Island has some of the best wedding venues in the world.” Just saying. Just saying. Newport, come on down. Yeah, I love that. So, he’s trying to court the, you know, the business for for the state, for the coastal Rhode Island. You know, Watchill is obviously a very affluent community, but there’s a lot of restaurants, caterers, all the people that get uplifted like we saw with the Bezos wedding. No, this is at her home. And what I um you know, it’s not in the article. I learned this after. It’s actually near a resort. So, they could actually maybe have this ceremony at this resort that’s her neighbor and then later have a or have the ceremony there and then have a party there or maybe even like do both. So, it’s depending on how big she wants to go. I mean, it’s Taylor Swift. She can shoot for the moon. I’m sure it’s going to be lovely and, you know, have so many flowers and all this stuff. If it’s anything like the engagement photos, there will be flowers. And I I’m ready for a Taylor party because we were sort of robbed of her annual semianual Fourth of July party that she throws with her celebrity friends, which she does have at this Rhode Island house. Yes. But this year, she skipped it, but in August, I guess Travis did make an appearance. Yes, he was there and so is Patrick Mahome. So, they were at the pool. So, you know, it’s a spot that she loves. Then because of the renovation, people are thinking, “Oh, maybe this would be her primary residence.” I had a report last week that she um was in this area near Cleveland. It’s a Cleveland suburb called Hunting Valley. She was looking, our sources say, at an $18 million property. Is that all? Um Yeah. Uh but and and that’s also giant again like they need to be able to have he has his family, she has his family, they they got to have the Hadids over, they got to have Blake Lively over. So I mean it it makes sense that she wants the big place. You can’t be putting Blake Lively in the, you know, Holiday Inn. Absolutely not. Um, and this idea that it’s going to be a low-key or a casual wedding, that’s a surprise to me because she is, you know, the biggest pop star in the world. Like, what does that mean for a celebrity low-key? I mean, I do think that she likes things cozy though, right? Like, she loves, we saw with the engagement ring, like she loves a vintage flare. She loves keeping it casual, you know, in the stands rooting for him. She’s not always glammed out. Yeah. I mean, I don’t I would not consider Taylor Swift to be like an ostentatious celebrity at all. Would you? No. I mean, aside from the $17 million Rhode Island mansion that she’s only there one weekend a year. She needs it. But it’s not all love for Taylor in the state of Rhode Island. The uh state passed a tax. Okay. The Taylor Swift tax was passed in June um charging non- primary residents $2.50 for every $500 of assessed property value above 1 million. So, this is actually something some other states are trying to look at for people with second homes there, right? And Taylor’s, you know, famously not in Rhode Island for too many weeks out of the year, definitely mostly in the summer. And her house is well over $1 million. Yes. So, she’s she’s paying the taxes and, you know, maybe it’s time for her to cash in on that and have a nice Rhode Island wedding. I mean, she loves this house. So, it was actually mentioned in a song of hers off of folklore in 20 the 2020 album. Yes. is called the last great American dynasty and the lyrics are about the mansion’s former owner this socialite called Rebecca Harkness who I guess wed this standard oil heir William Hail Harkness in 1947 and was sort of a scandalous controversial figure who would fill the pool with champagne. So maybe Taylor will fill her pool with champagne. Yes, we need a great Gatsby wedding. We need to have a Gilded Age moment, you know, for next summer. Hopefully I could see that for her.
