Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman previously navigated tough times in their marriage. More than a year before the couple’s separation, the country singer shares how his past battle with addiction led to a challenging period early in their relationship. Keith says in a speech honoring Nicole at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala in April 2024. According to People, “We got married in June 2006. And barely 4 months into our marriage, my addictions that I’d done really nothing about blew our marriage to Smitherines.” After embarking on a 3-month stay in rehab just 4 months into the marriage, the Grammy winner recalls feeling uncertain about whether his wife would stay by his side. Sir, I would like to tell you something I knew all about this long because Keith and I have had a relationship since then 2021 and he divorced Nicole in 2022 of August and that was true and number number two reason they just wanted to let everybody know about it now OK And Keith is gonna be coming after this next woman of his he’s getting serious with her and he wants to be with her for rest of his life OK and she will take care of Keith and those girls OK now let me let you know something about me. Why he liked me was one of the reasons I am adopted into a family that is relate to May West the actress OK and so I’m the third cousin related to her OK so that’s on my grandmother side and if you wanna look that up, look up the last name, Harrelson HARRELSON look that up and read about it under May West that’s who I’m related to OK no the other thing I want you to know is we aren’t wanting prayers for Keith. Prayers are important because Keith is going through a situation right now where he’s got issues that we need to be praying for and I’m not gonna disclose those OK because of his privacy act and have a nice day
This one hurts because they tried so hard, through it all, Keith's abuse issues 'addictions' and her being there to help him through it. So sad, wishing Keith and Nicole both joy and happiness.
