To clarify, you still do not know her, right? How can I suddenly know? Like, you know, you’re right. I a lot has changed over the past 20 years. But one thing you can count on is that Mariah Carey still doesn’t know her. On October 1st, Mariah joined Annie Cohen for a special solo interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. And when Andy referenced the timeless meme of the emotion singer saying she doesn’t know Jennifer Lopez during a 2003 interview, Mariah insisted she was only being honest. Can you believe how much I don’t know her has become part of the lexicon? I mean, the thing is I was being honest when I said it. Yes. So, I don’t know how it became so big. I know. The top Bravo exec asked Mariah if she’d had the chance to get to know JLo since then, but the Queen of Whistle Tones implied that not much has changed. To clarify, you still do not know her, right? How can I suddenly know? Like, you know, right? I This isn’t the first time Andy has pressed Mariah on the issue. Back in 2016, when the host asked the songstress if she knew Jennifer, Mariah made it clear that in her opinion, the concept of knowing a person is deeper than some people think. Do you know JLo at this point? No. The audience member said it. I mean, let me just tell you, I’ve spoken with you at least three times, right? Yes. I mean, we’ve had many conversations together. No. Do you think I know your every like like waking thought? I I don’t. Do you know me? Yes. If somebody asked me, “Have we met?” We’ve met. We’ve spoken. We’ve had conversations. We’ve talked. I know you. You know me. The comment has been a topic of discussion for both women over the years. Jennifer appeared on the Wendy Williams show in 2016 and joked that Mariah is quote forgetful. Before I even signed my deal to go to Vegas, when they were offering it to me, they were like, “But we want you to come do this.” I went and saw a bunch of shows. And I saw everybody. Uhhuh. I didn’t see Mariah because at the time she wasn’t playing. She hadn’t started yet. Who? But I saw Britney. I saw Shaniah. No, I’m playing cuz that’s what Mariah said about Jennifer one time. I’m not trying to start anything. I’m just She She does say that. Yeah, she does. She’s forgetful, I guess. Yes. I don’t know. We’ve met many times. Uh I don’t know. I don’t know her that well. And Mariah didn’t miss a beat when referencing Jennifer’s comment while on Watch What Happens Live later that year.
