*the entire album is embarrassing.
It’s like 13 going on 30 of an album.

when I saw the leaked lyrics I knew she was making a huge mistake by releasing this song.
Idk what Charlie did behind the door but she has never done it in the public towards her. Sympathy is a knife has never been a diss track, it reflects Charlie’s insecurities rather than shading Taylor.
I think that Taylor is just salty that she introduced Gabriette to Matty. And this lead to her releasing the track.
Bringing behind the scenes fight to the light is never good.
All critics and general public burn her down now for it. And it wasn’t even a good diss track, so that made it even worse.
Writer of this article is having his very own spite filled song on her next album lol.

Can someone please explain to me how Swifties don’t see the hypocrite she has become? Especially those who identify as leftist liberals (of which I am, but am not a Swiftie) who claim to be pro-choice, feminist, allies to the LGBTQ+ community, attend BLM and anti-king protests, believe in climate change, and then defend Swift when she turns around and surrounds herself with the very people they despise? So many people I follow for various reasons, including podcasters and content creators are Swifties, but their politics don’t align with her actions at all. I genuinely feel like I’m losing my mind!

I know I definitely sit down and write songs about things that absolutely don’t bother me, doesn’t every girl? She’s such a relatable queen.
And chihuahuas can be scary af, there’s a lot of rage in those lil goblin bodies

She needed some downtime between the last album and this one. I’ve been a fan of her music for years but this album is steep decline in quality.
All the songs sound the same, I swear she’s cosplaying Sabrina Carpenter in most of them, the lyrics are super juvenile, and the songs do not match the concept or aesthetic of the album. Absolutely baffling how you can go from Folklore/Evermore to this in 5 years.

I listened to the album,
1. Enough with the whisper singing & talking singing. It constantly sounds like you’re out of breath & this is for all these artists who do this.
2. All the songs sound the same. Has she always been like this? If you listen to the instrumentals, I wouldn’t be able to tell which is which because that is how forgettable they are.🤷♀️
3. You’d think 20+ years her lyrics would’ve gotten better but they’re cringey. You’re mindset really does get stuck at the age you become famous.
4. Still with the victim mentality & pettiness.😒 You’re 36, enough.

If it’s actually a diss track to Sympathy is a Knife, she’s really telling on herself for having zero reading comprehension or simply cherry picking to play the victim. Sympathy is a Knife is very obviously an introspective piece on Charlie’s own insecurities and how she feels about having those insecurities in the first place. Music, like movies and TV, is just so literal nowadays. It’s honestly boring.
Sooo, what Pitchfork is telling me is that this is for Charli and the Gaylors live another day? /s
I’ll take it (I don’t really go here, I’m just gay)

I just read the lyrics and, no joke, it reminds me of a facebook post a girl did in my middle school when her and her best friend “broke up” like wow giving 12 year old angst

As someone who isn’t a swift fan or consumer of the genre, seems like a pretty standard diss track lol. Listened to it solely because of this thread and it seems fine? I don’t see the big issue, unless we are saying that artist aren’t allowed to put how they feel into a song. I guess some people might see it as “mean” but idk maybe I’m not invested enough in the lore lol
The only issue I see is Taylor has a army of Stans so any type of diss probably breed toxicity

Okay but how funny would it be if releasing this album cause Sympathy Is A Knife to resurge to number 1?

She’s absolutely gonna hate this goodness. One thing about Taylor is she does not take criticism nicely.

Does this album even have any showgirl vibes?? Aside from the million variants..

I saw people on either Facebook or IG putting her lyrics on the same level as Shakespeare….UM?!
