Diddy’s 50 months prison sentence, all of Taylor Swift’s new songs about Travis Kelce | P6 Headlines
Taylor Swift’s new album might as well come with a football jersey because the life of a showgirl is full of lyrical touchdowns about Travis Kelce. We’ve got more on Swift’s sparkling nods to her fiance in today’s Page 6 headlines. Taylor’s 12th studio album dropped at midnight and fans immediately spotted the Kelsey references. From the fate of Oilia, where she sings about the Kansas City Chiefs star swooping in to save her heart, to Opelite, a gem-filled tribute that ties back to his Libra birthstone, the Easter eggs are everywhere. Then there’s Eldest Daughter, which slightly recalls the moment Kelsey tried and failed to give his number via a friendship bracelet at her era’s tour. On wish list, she all but spells out her dream of settling down with him, kids, basketball hoop, and all. And yes, Swifties, even the cheeky Wood track with lines about new heights of manhood seem to wink directly at her tight end fiance. So, while Swift’s showgirl era may be about life behind the stage, it’s clear Travis Kelsey is center field in her heart and her lyrics. Next, Keith Urban’s guitarist Maggie Ba skipped his first concert since the news of his divorce from Nicole Kidman broke. Urban performed Thursday night at Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania as part of his High and Alive world tour, choosing not to wear his wedding ring and tweaking lyrics in songs like You’ll Think of Me and the Fighter, with some lines appearing to reference Ba. During the show, he still honored Kidman and their daughters in a photo slideshow during Heart Like a Hometown. Ba, who drew attention after previous lyric changes pointed at her, has not publicly commented, though her father defended her, saying she is just a guitar player for him and denying any knowledge of her involvement in the divorce. And finally, Sha Diddy Combmes has been sentenced to 50 months in prison, which is more than 4 years. A Manhattan federal court judge ruled Friday. Judge Arun Sub Rommanian told the mogul moments before the decision, “I considered the fact that you are a self-made artist and businessman who inspired and lifted up communities, but then noted that he had to consider all of his history, including the infamous freakoffs.” Sub Romanian concluded, “The court is not assured that if released, these crimes would not be committed again,” before noting the importance of sending a message to other abusers. The decision comes three months after Combmes was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution while being acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges which carried potentially harsher penalties. The day before the hearing, he submitted a letter to the judge taking full responsibility and accountability for his past wrongs, acknowledging incidents of physical abuse and describing his ongoing efforts towards sobriety and personal accountability. Prosecutors had argued that Comb should face a minimum of 11 years in prison, while dozens of letters from family, colleagues, and former associates, sought leniency. Victims, including exartner Cassie Ventura, opposed immediate release, citing ongoing fear and trauma related to past abuse. With the sentence now handed down, attention turns to Comb’s next steps in both his criminal case and several ongoing civil lawsuits. For more of today’s biggest stories, head to page six.com.
